Great for short stays with dogs--BYO Raid
By Kate B., 10/9/07
This could be a very nice hotel, but it comes in under minimum standards in several areas. The dog walking area is wonderful--large and well maintained, with enough room for dogs with good voice recall to play off-leash. There is also a grooming room, which is nice. The location is great for activities close to Purina Farms, and some of the staff are very nice helpful. However, the rooms are nothing special--pretty basic, and they are over-priced. (Because they are dog friendly so close to Purina Farms) The housekeeping staff is doing a dismal job... very chintzy with items like toilet tissue and bath sized towels, apparently you have to leave a note to have the sheets changed even if there are big dirty dog paw prints visible on the sheets. Thats the first hotel of even questionable quality that hasnt bothered to change bedding that is obviously and clearly dirty! Luckily there are nice shower heads and enough hot water for good showers. Bringing back a laundry bag full of ants was not expected or appreciated though. If you stay here (and it may be worth it for a short stay if you have dogs--the play area is very nice, with poop scoopers everything) keep your luggage *off the floor*. Or maybe bring a can of Raid. Some of the staff are great--very friendly helpful... apparently none of those work in housekeeping. I hope this place will make the needed improvements--great location potential to be a really nice hotel. Breakfast is scant very starchy and sweet. They need to get on the Carbons Golden Malted Waffle program... that would almost make up for their other lacking areas.

Never Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/05
Our church group rented four rooms on July 22 2005. The temperature was near 100 degrees and we had been at Six Flags all day. When we came back to the hotel, none of the air conditioners worked. We called the front desk and were treated very rudely. They told us to wait on maintenance and we did for about one hour. When he did arrive all he did was verify that the air conditioners did not work. I called the manager and all she was worried about was how I got her phone number. We were only offered other rooms after we had packed to leave. I was personally insulted three times by employees. I have never in my life been treated this bad by a business.

Semi-pet friendly
By Karin, 6/14/04
BW Diamond is the closest place to stay if going to dog shows at Purina Farms. Don't expect anything fancy as it is your basic place. Restaurants are at other exits, none here. There is quite a bit of grassy area for walking the dogs, but they are stingey with the garbage cans. They need to place more around the grounds to truly encourage pickup. And since they do charge a "pet-fee" that is a small thing to make the place more pet friendly. Rooms on the east side heat up quickly at the sun beats down on them most of the day. The free breakfast is the usual fare of cold cereals, fruit, toast, juice, coffee.
