Horrible
By scott, 05/26/09
The stairwells and room had an odor about it. I was staying on business so didn't have much of a choice in the matter. I overheard a maintenence employee discussing with the bartender an issue that had them both concerned. They were talking about how on the second floor of the hotel there were four or five room closed off due to BLACK MOLD. The man working maintenence was upset because he had been repeteadly told to clean it up but had refused. Out of curiousity I went to the second floor and there were indeed four or five rooms without numbers on the doors. The hot tub in the atrium was cold the whole time I was there. The staff was rude about any of my concerns. There were cobwebs in every corner. This hotel is outdated, old, and in need of repair. The only good about my stay was the food and the bar.

Impressive value
By Ed, 05/21/07
I wanted to express my pleasant surprise I received while staying with you over Mother's day weekend. The room was quiet, clean, and very nice. The pool, whirlpool, staff, and price was the best I have experienced around the Gaylord & Grayling area. I'd recommend the Best Western Alpine to everyone. Come and be amazed!!!! Thank - you Ed

Couldn't Honor our Reservation!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/07
Booked 2 rooms for the weekend through hotels .com Luckily we called the hotel direct to check on our reservation prior to arriving and we were told that the inn was full and they had no record of our confirmed reservation. We were promised a free night's stay at alternate accomodation and this was also taken away from us. Hotels .com blames Best Western and vice versa. Of couse that doesn't do us any good at all. Outome? I'll never will stay at another Best Western or book online through a third party like Hotels.com. After being messed around like that, they wouldn't even honor my free 1 night stay...and here they are one of the largest hotel chains in the nation???
