Very special place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/09
My husband and I love this place. Very romantic and quaint - exactly the way an Inn should be. Nice mix of new & old (fine antique furniture, but also a nice flat screen tv!) We've stayed in both the Quarterdeck part and the main inn part. Both were great. I think there's a new owner. The restaurant was delicious and had a good two dinner & wine deal. Would definitely return. The staff was young and helpful.

Not sure if I'd go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
Beautiful grounds and breathtaking ocean view from our room. Especially liked the breakfasts. A couple of negatives, though. We stayed in the Quarterdeck building and I wouldn't stay on the bottom floor again. Noise level was high. Sounded like elelphants above us. Also had a resident skunk that roamed around on the lawn near our room every day. Something they should have gotten rid of since other guests observed as well. Kept us from going in and out at times. Told the desk when leaving and wrote an email to the innkeeper to which we never got a response. An apology for the inconvenience would have been nice.

The only place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/06
This is our favorite inn in Rockport. The views, gardens, pool and rooms are all top notch and so relaxing. The breakfast is very nice - not amazing -but nice and the dinners have always been excellent. We have stayed here for the last twenty years, and suddenly, we cannot afford it any more during the summer. The prices are comparable, we know, to other similar places, but we are saddened to be unable to stay. We go to the Bass Rocks Motor Inn instead. Look at the pictures and see why we love, love it! A piece of heaven on earth!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/05
We stayed at The Yankee Clipper for 4 nights. We were in the Quarterdeck building. The view from this building is breathtaking-you feel like the waves might come up through the windows! We sat on our deck, sipped wine, and enjoyed the view of the ocean and the rocks every evening. The room was beautiful, with marble topped antiques and a beautiful armoir. The staff was great and the food was excellent. We tried dinner in the restaurant and loved the crab cakes and the baked stuffed lobster. They could not serve alcohol in the Rockport Restaurants but, according to our waitress, the town has started to allow it so they are in the process of getting a license. We highly recommend this as a quick get away and also a great town for enjoying art and the ocean!
