Costly error
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/25/06
This might be an okay motel, but try to make your reservation via phone and not the HOWARD JOHNSON website.
1. If you make an error with the online reservation at their website... beware! They do not send a confirmation email so you can verify what you typed-in online.
2. If you leave the confirmation webpage before accepting the reservation (to check a hotel feature), your reservation dates are lost and you could be charged for a reservation booked on your website visit date. (Unless you read their confirmation carefully and notice the dates are changed on you.)
3. If you try to call Howard Johnson customer service to fix the problem, you don't get service instead you get a form letter telling you to call the local hotel manager for a refund. (The HJ manager at Lenox says you are a "no show" and it isn't his fault if the website doesn't work well.)
4. Don't bother calling customer service back, as they don't want you calling back and start getting rude.... especially their supervisors!
Take your business to other hotels in the area!
