Decent Hotel, Bad Staff
The hotel itself was mostly fine, the pool area was nice and our room was fine (except the shower was a bit stingy with water). On weekends, the surrounding banquet facilities cater to a young crowd and weddings, and they overflow into the hotel at night, which can be noisy.
The staff here, though, reaches new lows. Cleaning staff were erratic -- one day no coffee, one day three extra pillow cases, one day no soap. One day our fourth pillow disappeared. When we asked for more coat hangers, the front desk said "sorry! we're full up and we don't have any." One day, we returned to no sheets on the bed, the laundry was backed up. The one time we went to the restaurant, there was no staff at all. Eventually, one waitress appeared, seated us and gave us silverware, but no menus. She asked us if we wanted coffee and that was the last we saw of her. The breakfast buffet had no plates or bowls. Three lazy busboys carried dirty dishes as slowly as I have ever seen, four plates at a time. One snuck into the dining room, grabbed a clean glass, and then sidled off. We left after waiting 15 minutes for something resembling service.
I could go on and on about the staff, they all need to be fired. The exercise equipment (treadmill) wouldn't let you run, it kept shutting off. They claimed they "sent an engineer to look at it". Wireless internet was down most of the time, and the phones were erratic.
Good location, though, and decent price for Boston area. Drive down Main St. to Zeppy's Baigels, or to Fresser's Deli, or to Sal's Family Restaurant. All excellent.
