Motel in Foreclosure
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/23/10
Please note there is a foreclosure auction for this motel advertised for March 2010. Hope for new owners/renovations, maybe. Stayed there a few years ago and the fireplace room with kitchenette was dated but OK. For me, it just brought back memories of stays there as a child in the 70's and early 80's so I hope it will be returned to former glory as a quaint winter retreat.

this place sucked!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/08
We booked a room online, thinking for $150/night we would be getting a decent hotel room. As soon as we arrived I could tell this place was totally dilapidated. There is a FOR SALE sign in front, and the place is falling apart. The room had a filthy carpet, smelled like a damp, dank cellar, it was dark and dingy, and looked like it had never been updated. It was truly disgusting. The dock by the lake was covered in duck excrement, and there were no chairs by the lake for anyone to sit. We asked for our money back within 30 minutes. The reception hostess finally gave in...she would give us back one night's reservation, but then we wouldn't be allowed to stay there even for the one night we would be charged for. That did it! It was such a depressing experience. After some angry words, she did refund all our money. We were out of there so fast. My advice - don't even think about staying here.

Not a Value
By Melissa, 1/29/08
Customer Service Stinks! Plain & Simple the Owner/Manager will make every excuse not to lose a buck.(in retrospect he will lose several, by bad word of mouth) We stayed overnight here so we could rest after a long day of skiing; we didn't get much rest. It is a quiant place, but needs some updating(60's style lighting/small tv) The walls are paper thin...So when you have a party in the next room over you will hear every word and smell everything that comes under the connecting door. Anyways, our neighbors did have a party and we called the cops on them(never thought I'd do that) at about 2:30am (it started at about 12:30, but I thought I could let the party die down) Anyways the cops showed up in about 20 min. not much action was taken on their part (no carding for the beer that was on the porch) so it still continued through the night a bit quieter, but like I said it was paper thin walls. The manager/owner told us we could have a late check out no add'l charge, well since we wanted to get out of this place, we didn't stay. So extended checkout was useless to us. The next day the manager was availitable we contacted him asking for a refund, he hide behind a policy NO REFUNDS. I asked why? we didn't get the family oriented stay we deserved....his response i offered you an extended stay you couldn't use! I was like well how about a percentage off or a future stay to change my mind about your place....No you stayed the night No Refunds. Oh and his fixing the problem was that his and the cops response time was quick(well I'm sure there is a reason for that)And that fixed the problem of a bad nights stay here?! well how can you leave when there is no one at the front desk? and they charge our card first thing? I told him I was going to write this review and he threatened to come after me(yes, I wrote a review regaurdless because I believe in free speech) Please, do not stay here, it may be a 20$ difference to other places in the area, but I'm sure they have better customer service and thats the difference. Now if your looking to have a party here go ahead...the cops don't do much.

what a rip off
By Robbie, 1/29/08
The night started off well, but the room next to us had a loud party. Poor responce time for the off site manager. The soda machine was locked at night. The morning after when we left early because of that same room. When I fainally get a hold of the owner or manager about getting a refund, he flat out lied about what he and the police did that night. It helps that I heard everything since the walls are very thin. Over all I would never stay there again or tell other people to stay there.

Don't Go There!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/9/06
I booked two nights remembering some romantic times my wife and I spent there 35 years ago (our Honeymoon). In an attempt to be romantic (oftentimes difficult for an old guy of 58) I made the reservation. Upon arrival all seemed well so we checked in and were require to pay in advance. My gut questioned the advance payment but try to remember this aged heart was till working. We went to the room and it was at best OK. The beds were hard, there was not bath soap and no coffee for the coffee maker. My bride and I decided to leave and go home. When I went to check out I was informed that ne refund for the unstayed night was possible due to management policy. Needless to say I was not happy. Hence, the title: Don't Go There!.
