Stage Neck Inn, York

The hotel was great. The room was great. The food was great. The pool was great. The service was great. I would stay here again.

we were given a nights stay for a gift and have returned since and look forward to many more returns great atompshere and great personal!!!

my husband and i have been comming to stage neck for some time now.we were married in york,nubble light house in 1999.we just fell in love with york our first time there in 1997.stage neck is truly the best.we have stayed else where but never quite found what you have to offer ,your over all package is un beatable.we love the atmosphere of the dinning area and lounge,the cleanliness ,the friendly staff and beautiful grounds. i am planning a surprise getaway for my husband in november.his birthday falls on thanksgiving day and i know a week end to stage neck is just what would make his birthday an awsome one .thanks for all you do for the patrons best wishes kim marcucci

Not a real New England "Inn" experience, but more like a motel on the ocean front, at the mouth of York Harbor. We had a first floor harbor/ocean view with a small patio. Room was a typical motel room, and very clean. Excellent cleaning staff. Very slow hostess at the restaurant - we gave up eating there and found much better places nearby. The wait staff at the restaurant and pool area once seated were excellent and friendly. The number one industry of Maine is stamping out "no trespassing" signs, which meant that there was very little space around the inn for taking walks everyday. We were limited to walking a risky cliff walk along the ocean or the long noisy walk into the tiny shopping area. The ocean water in July was way too cold to swim in, though hardy folks would wade in it. At various times of the day, the harbor/sea smell was more like stench. All in all, we were disappointed because we hoped that the very high price meant a great vacation.

we loved the location of this beautiful hotel. We had kids with us, too, and it accomodated us well. Indoor and out door pool, fitness,etc., Everything we enjoy in a hotel, with lots of class!

Three days here recharges our internal batteries making it poossible to return to our regular lives for another six months or so. Excellant food and service coupled with a world class view.and you have the Stage Neck Inn. The room, hallways, lobby, not to mention the many lawn chairs by the ocean all make comfortable places to relax and curl up with a book.

This is an expensive hotel (not really an inn) that has a lot of amenities and a pretty classy touch throughout. The rooms have beautiful views and the whole place has a peaceful ambiance with a hint of richness. The setting is remarkable and the nearby harbor gives one plenty of opportunities for memorable photographs. The are pools, tennis, gym, wireless, a private beach, and two restaurants. The restaurants are good, not great! Overall this is a terrific place to stay. It is near other beautiful locations and not far from Portsmouth (NH) for a change of pace and more variety.

This place is not a four diamond level hotel. They do not cater to young families with kids. Internet does not work. No conciarge. Rude service. They even charge you for a toll free call to tech support on their own internet provider. Overall we had a bad experience. General Manger is really nice but she could not fix anything (mostly leap service).

We have been guests of the Inn many times and were always pleased with our stay there. However, I suggested the Mother's Day brunch at the Inn to family members and was very disappointed for the first time. The food was very average and the offerings were few. Our waitress tried to take our dishes from us everytime a fork was put down on the plate even though there was still food on it. She did this several times and became quite annoying. I understand wanting to clean the table but patrons should be allowed to finish their food before the table is cleaned. Also, if we had taken children with us there was not much on the buffet that would have interested a child. All in all, the brunch was not worth the money ($29.95 pp + tax = gratuity, added to the check at 18%)

My husband and I have been guests at the Inn at least 10 times over the past few years. Needless to say we absolutely love this place. I've never been able to relax anywhere the way I can when I'm at the Stage Neck Inn. It is just so classy and yet so comfortable. The rooms are lovely, the view is spectacular, the food is awesome, the service superb. If you have the opportunity to stay at the Inn you'll do well not to pass it up. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
