Grand Beach Inn, Old Orchard Beach

Stayed in Skippers Cabin, 3 years ago, great place, ate at the restaurant, good food, nice atmosphere. We used Old Orchard Beach on a 2 nite stopover on the way to Bar Harbor, and liked it so much we are going back this June 2006 and stay a week. Easy access to the actual beach and amusement park and eateries, and easy access to Portland, Cape Elizabeth and lighthouses. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked it again. Hoping this stay will be just as positive.

We've been there once and on our second visit...We love the location and hospitality...

The hotel's website indicates it's "OOB's newest hotel." Well, according to their sign outside they are in their 84th year. We stayed in the grand suite (July/2004). The dishwasher leaked, the sofa bed cushions were ripped, the curtains in all rooms were not hung properly, one cabinet door in kitchen hanging by one hinge. three floors to hotel, no elevator. The hotel and area surroundings info was hidden away in a drawer we didn't find until our last day. The second day the room was not vacuumed. Staff not friendly. Have "coffee shop & restaurant" on-site, however not open for business, the town revoked their license. Booked room early and received good discount, if I had paid full price for these accomodations I would have demanded my money back. Won't stay here again.....
