Howard Johnson Express Lake Charles, Lake Charles

The service was mediocre. When I asked for an extra pillow it took about an hour for me to get one. I was told they couldn't find an extra pillow and that is why it took so long. The front desk was being worked by a teenager on a cell phone that was less than attentive. The location was convenient but that is the only positive. As far as the state of the room it was dirty. The walls were missing paint in areas for example the bathroom door was missing paint. The walls and baseboards had dirt on them. There was construction debris on the shelves. Worse of all the vent in the bathroom was caked with mold and dust. (I have pictures if you are interested.) I found it all very disturbing. We called Yahoo Travel and were told we could check out and would receive a refund for the unused portion of our stay. I feel the Yahoo represented this Hotel as a higher start rating than it should have. I understand that for a certain price range you can't have it all but I do expect a clean room that I feel comfortable sleeping in with my 6 month old daughter. Thank You. Mr. and Mrs. Whedon
