Lake Barkley State Resort Park, Cadiz

The camp site was nice but the racoons and skunks will get into your trash and tents if your not careful. They got into our tent and took some food we had. The fishing was bad too, we was there 2 days and didn't catch nothing at the park, we had to go to another spot out of the park to find a good fishing spot.

Great location Stay away from the Resort rooms. Better quallity insulation at cheaper Hotels.Disapointed to have spent so much and then hearing all the rooms around me all night. The TVs every shower every flush etc.

There's always something to do at the lake!!! Weather is camping, boating or just fishing off the docks...There's alot to do...we enjoy taking the trails and enjoying the scenery. Don't forget to check out the Buffalo Area on LBL and the Visitation center on the trace!!!

we love the resort and will go back make sure that you get a massage when you are there food is good and it is a little price the fitness center is the best the resort needs some maintenance or some TLC

the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. you are right near a lake.

It's so peaceful. Every room overlooks the water. You can step out onto the balcony and breath - not just look out a window. Feels like you're a million miles away from any stresses. Beautiful woodwork restaurant, also overlooks the water. Animals abundant. Actually had a raccoon eat a cheeto on our balcony rail! Love to hear the Canadien Geese. Love the walking trails. Been coming here to escape and watch nature for 40 years. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

This was our 2nd trip back to this resort. We decided this year to visit the Trigg Co. Ham Festival in Cadiz Ky. It was awesome! We began our adventure early that Sat. morning by starting out from Paris, Tn & going directly for the day to the ham festival where we spent all our time until about 4pm. It was a beautiful day to take in all Cadiz had to offer. After leaving there, we went and checked in at the resort, got our room & as always was ready for some R & R. A quick rest and we were ready for supper and as expected, it was great! The buffet was loaded with ribs, chicken, bbq, prime rib, mac & cheese, stewed potatoes, 4 or 5 vegetables and much more. Cost for 2: around $30. We got done with supper & visited the game room awhile, then walked around the grounds before going back to the room. About the room: unbelievable also! We got a room with a king size bed; Serta Perfect Sleeper and I also noticed the marble topped Thomasville furniture too. The lamps, bedding, faucets, lighting, and all in the room aren't cheap or of poor quality. Not bad for $89 a night! After awaking early the next morning from a great sleep, I went and got breakfast carry outs from the breakfast buffet. Around $7 each. Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy, grits, Lord, who could turn that down? It was delicious. So, after breakfast we went up to the gift shop there and we were also amazed at all the items they had to offer. The hardest thing about visiting this resort is when it comes time to leave. It offers so much for couples, families or just individuals who need a break from the everyday grind. I also noticed that they are offering cruise outs from the dock behind the resort. I might just take us one the next time we are there and we will return soon! After checking out, we starting returning home, but side tracked to the LBL Visitor Center for an hour or so then went on home. Bottomline; where else can you go within a hour's drive, stay for a modest price with plenty of luxury, eat great food without driving anywhere and have so much to do when you are there? Only at Lake Barkley Resort! See you again real soon.

Overall this is a great place. We have been going here for the past 10 years for family reunions. A great place for a vacation

Lake Barkley State Resort was exactly what I was expecting. I had previously read about the resort online and had actually heard about it through a friend. My husband and I were looking for a quick, but reasonable get away place for Valentines Day. The Lake Barkley Sweetheart's Dance was just the ticket for us! You can choose to stay one or two nights, which includes a great dinner and breakfast, as well as the cost of the room and the dance. The room was nice, we had originally asked for a king size bed but there were none available in non-smoking so we received two doubles. For the price, this place was great--clean, quiet and cozy! Of course, we stayed during February, which was cool weather, but we were still able to walk around the resort grounds, visit the fitness center/indoor pool, and tryout the many walking trails! They even had bingo that Friday night with free prizes and the bingo caller was full on tips and knowledge about the resort, lake and surrounding areas. We are definately planning another trip to the resort in the summer with our three boys so that we can all enjoy the great outdoor pool that overlooks the lake and get in some quiet time fishing or riding on the lake! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for those who are looking for a nice, quiet, cozy place to just enjoy nature and each other!

We had a wonderful Eagle Watch weekend at Barkley, the lodge is just grand and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area. We had the best trip ever and this was in January, do take warm clothes for this month but it was romantic and plenty to do and see.
