Hyatt Regency Lexington, Lexington

the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. i would stay here again. you are not that far from the rupp arena and downtown.

They offer a new years eve package that is worth the money! It was $250 for the room, tickets to a ballroom party, champagne toast at midnight, dinner and breakfast buffet. The package said something about a hors d'oouvre reception but we never saw it. Pros - -The food was amazing! The beef was very tender and the meal included champagne, a meat and cheese appetizer, yummy lobster bisque soup/salad, and they best desert ever! It was a three layer chocolate mousse thing with molded chololate that read "2008" and "Happy New year." -For our friends who could not afford a room they bought tickets to the ballroom party for $25.00 each. -It was also $25.00 to join us for the dinner which is well worth it! -Decent DJ -They were not strict about letting people up in the rooms, so our friends were able to come pre-party in our room with no hassle -Apparenty some man was arrested that night but I did not know until the next day because the staff handled it very discreetly. -there were no supprise charges on my bill -glass garden staff were very sweet and friendly -the hotel is supposed to be renovated in the summer of 2008 Cons- -You had to prechoose your meal ahead of time and they didn't ask us if we would like to change it at the actual dinner. -I have been told in the past that there was a DJ party and a live band but it was just the DJ for 2008. - Not enough sitting room for all the people in the ballroom -the party ended too soon, they shut down at midnight which barely gave you time to party after the new year -we were told to quiet down about three times before 2 am - which we kind of ignored. It was new years! - you have to prepay, once you book this package you cannot cancel -HUGE line at check in but that could not be helped. What DID irritate me was the other front desk staff kept interupting the man helping me to get keys for them. I ended up speaking up and saying "HELLO! I am here too!" -we did not shower but the shower looked dirty. -rooms were VERY dated looking Overall we had a great time. We had 8 in our group so we would have had fun anywhere I think.

My mom and I stayed at the Hyatt Friday night because we had front row tickets to the WWE at Rupp . The hotel is very easy to get to , we love that its connected right to Rupp , the hotel staff is very nice and very helpful . The beds are very comfortable , the hotel is very nice , the only thing we didnt like is that you have to pay to watch tv . When we were leaving we wanted to make sure we didnt get lost on the way out back home 3 hrs away and one of the valet men Dominik got us a map and drew up out directions , they were the easiest directions we ever had and we got home without a single problem . THANKS ! We'll drfinitely be back ! : )

We planned a graduation weekend for our family and friends and paid $200+ per night per room for each room. We were guaranteed connecting rooms and called the front desk repeatedly prior to coming to Lexington to make sure this would happen as we have two infant grandchildren we needed to watch. We did not get this and when we arrived they promised it for the second night on the 16th floor. They never contacted us on the following day as promised and I called them at 10:00, 11:00, 1:00, 2:00 and then when I called at 4:00, they told us that the people on the 16th floor had decided not to leave and we could not have that accommodation. They could only provide us smoking rooms and two family members have severe allergies so that would not work. The "Graduation Buffet" they planned consisted of sparse salad, several meat choices, one vegetable (canned green beans) and instant mashed potatoes and store purchased desserts. Everything appeared to come from a place like SAM'S Club with no chef needed to prepare it. The waitress had no clue about the champagne we had arranged for a toast and had ordered before coming and asked me to pick it out. They only had ONE brand so what was to pick? The service was horrible, the seating was not set up (we were all herded around to three seperate setups before finally getting a table. The total of the bill was ANNOUNCED at our table in front of all of our guests!!! There is no class left in this hotel and the staff that IS excellent is a few of the older same staff that I remember from the old Hyatt. The hotel is full of young and inexperienced personnel who have no idea how to work with people who are paying $200 per night per room. They are nice people, but not trained for a Hyatt. We could have stayed at the Best Western and taken a cab and had a lovely room and free breakfast and the free wireless internet we were promised but did not get. Two of our guests left the Hyatt and stayed at the Best Western and it was a wonderfel and much less expensive weekend. The convenience of this hotel for our graduation event where our daughter received a long awaited PhD was certainly over-rated and we will NEVER stay there again even though we are basketball season ticket holders and have used the Hyatt in the past. Take a cab and stay somewhere else! The pool is in disrepair, the wallpaper is pealing, the drapes are off the rods, the carpet smells of smoke as do the walls in the non-smoking rooms. I have not been this disappointed over a hotel in my life and I travel for a living!

I loved it! I'm telling you go there NOW!!Yay! I love it! It is so relaxing and fun! The Hyatt is the only hotel that I go to I love it I can't stop! GO THERE NOW!! Yay Hyatt!! I love you! Now i got away form it all and i'm fully relaxed!

Although this hotel is in desperate need of a rooms renovation, I would still recommend this hotel. The location is great! The service is the best in the city, and the food is outstanding! For what you lose with an aged product, you definitely make up for with a friendly and hospitable hotel staff.

Being a frequent traveler, I have stayed at many hotels ranging in class especially in Lexington. I was at this hotel for a week and by the end of the first night I felt at home! The employees are great and show true southern hospitality! Front desk, bell staff and restaurant blew service standards out of the water compared to other local establishments in Lexington. I'm very picky about my hotel accomodations and wouldn't pick any other hotel than this one when in KY again.

Rooms were very clean and decorated lovely. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

THE LOCATION WAS GREAT BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT SUCKED I WILL STAY AT A HOTEL SIX BEFORE I STAY THERE AGAIN THE (1ST)RM WE HAD SMELLED LIKE FREON COMING FROM THE AIRCONDITIONER THEY TRYED TELLING US IT WAS HAIR SPRAY WRONG. THAN WE WERE STUCK OUT IN THE HALL TILL LIKE 2:30- 3:00 AM WAITING ON ANOTHER ROOM !! WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT GET ROOM 1028 . THAN THEY STUCK 4 ADULTS IN A KING SIZED ROOM AND WAS GONNA CHARGE US FOR A ROLL AWAY NOT GONNA HAPPEN . NEEDLESS TO SAY WE GOT OUR ROOM FREE BY THE TIME WE GOT DONE .
