BEST WESTERN Holiday Plaza, Richmond

The help at the front desk are very unprofessional, the rooms are very run down, I didn't stay the night, we checked out and went to the Days Inn, Best Western needs to pull their name off the sign.

The one good thing was the breakfast. The hotel honestly looked a little run-down (Best Westerns are usually a lot better than this one). The room looked to have had its best days during the 80's. It smelled musty/mildewy. The bed was okay, although the blanket (which at most hotels is very soft) was rough and itchy; once I pulled the blanket off the bed I finally got to sleep. If you just need a place to sleep and you don't care where, then go here. Otherwise, I'd look somewhere else.

Stayed there Oct. 26-29. Great location just off the interstate. Clean, comfortable rooms, great breakfast. Nice stay, except I couldn't reach the front desk to schedule a wake-up call first night. Tried several times, got dressed and went to the lobby to see the young lady standing outside laughing and talking with someone. My wife, trying to reach me a couple of nights, made several calls before she got an answer at the hotel desk.

I made a reservation online. I was told I would be getting a king size bed and matching room. upon arrival to my room I had a bed that would at best be a twin, and yes there were two for this bed. I went back to the front desk and asked to get the proper room. Exact comment from the the clerk " you booked online, thats what you get sorry". Given the national football games in the area I was unable to go somewhere else. Of course I must say i was severly disappointed. The room was actually a handicap room, small, surprised a wheel chair would even fit. The shower head was adjustable but loose so my knees received most of the water. Hey I did get a fridge! I would say spend the extra bucks and hit the hampton inn down the street.

They gave us a great group price. The place wasn't fancy but was acceptable by all in our group. We had 16 people of varying travel backgrounds. They all thought the breakfast was very satisfactory, which included some hot items. I had a king room with pullout couch and table. The whole group met in my room for pizza and pop. There was plent of room for most to sit down and eat. The pool and hottub was very relaxing. The locations was excellent with all kinds of restaurants nearby.
