Days Inn Ku Lawrence, Lawrence

Rented a room here, found bed bugs and immediately reported it to the front desk associate. He then in turn went to "check it out", he came back and denied seeing any. Then told us he couldn't issue a refund and I would need to speak with the manager in the morning. I called, bright and early, to my lovely surprise the MANGER was more RUDE than ANYONE!!! After getting yelled at on the phone for 20 minutes and the SITE MANAGER dancing around the subject for that time. I called headquarters. In this time the Days Inn in Lawrence proceeded to call me multiple times and harass my phone number (main line and their "fax" line). I am still trying to resolve this problem. Which is completely frustrating seeing as we did not stay there, nor would anyone who found such a thing. After reading other reviews I see I'm not the first to have to deal with such incompetence. ONLY STAY HERE IF YOU WANT HORRIBLE SERVICE, BED BUGS AND GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE!!!

The room was pretty clean. It had new carpet, drapes including liners, & bed spread that matched the drapes. It had a huge new TV, Ironing board & iron. Sun lamp and great soap & shampoo. They were in the process of replacing all the Mirrors, dressers and night stands- the old one looked pretty good still. The bed an extra pad and was VERY comfortable. Now for the bad stuff: The phone and electrical sockets were so dirty there were almost black. When we threw the bed together the next morning we could see dirt streaks on the blanket. The coffee pot looked like it hadn't been washed in weeks - but I Always wash that before I use it. We left for 1 hour in the morning before we checked out and someone came in to our room and went through our packed stuff and took our camera & one of my husband’s shirts. We did not find this out until we were home. When I called the motel and asked them about this - THEY LAUGHED AT ME STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!

We were attracted to free wi-fi and the fact it wasn't a name brand. Lesson learned: stick with name brand! First room was eye-stinging smoking room. Second room had a doorframe that was busted in and was tacked back on with roofing nails. When we asked why there were no cars in the parking lot, we were tolda "it is just the slow season, and we usually are slow on Sunday." I said, "Today is Saturday." We were told the reason the doorframe was busted was because the doors all froze that winter. Well, maybe, but the repair was so amateur I was embarassed for them. Bed was comfortable, shower was clean, but I would never return and would not recommend it to anyone.

In January, 2008 I stayed in Room 133. I gave the desk clerk a list of problems with that room to include--no working TV, it took 27 minutes for the hot water to get to luke warm(I never turned on the cold water) and I woke up Sunday AM to a cold room because by heater quit working during the night. The desk clerk agreed to give me a discount for my stay in February, 2008 for all the trouble I had endured and gave me confirmation number for the February stay. I called the motel today, Feb 2nd, 2008 to get a confirmation on my reservation for Feb 15 and 16th. I was told that there was no such confirmation number in their system and that I did not have a reservation. The female clerk was very rude and hung up on me. I could not recommend this motel to anyone.

I booked this hotel for 2 nights. I took me almost 30 minutes to check in, as there was a large line in front of me complaining of maintanance issues in their rooms. Once i reached the desk, the receptionist was not friendly at all. Upon arriving in my room, it had a very putrid odor as if something had not been cleaned. The sink smelled very bad, shower was dirty, and the floors had not been vacuumed. I called the front desk to ask about the wireless internet provided, and when it didn't work, they just hung up the phone and refused to be helpful. When you pay cheap, you get cheap. This is probably the worst hotel in town. The best thing was right next door is one of the best hotels i've stayed at, and it was easy to walk over and make reservations.

The room was never vacuumed in the 3 days I had to stay here. I don't know if it was vacuumed prior to my arrival. How do I know? The colony of dead bugs that never moved. The front desk attendents acted as if it was a major chore if you asked for anything. They could not handle the loud, partying customers around me for the 4 hours they were partying and after the numerous phone calls I placed to the front desk. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
