It's a horrible dump!

The management is horrible, half the time the security doesn't work. They claim to have wireless internet but it doesn't work and the business center internet service does not work. And, oh, yeah, even though I had a faimly member pass away during my stay, they would not let me stay because they said that in the parking lot I tried to break into my own car since I could not find my keys after returning from the emergency room. You do the math.

I loved my stay!!! It was a very quiet place to be able to get rest and relaxation after work. There is not a phone in the room which is a definite plus these days with cell phones. The front desk was the most helpful front desk I have ever encountered!!! The room was very clean, to the point I wondered what cleaning service they had come in. Everyone there was as helpful as you could have ever asked for!!! I give the Clive Hotel & Suites at least two thumbs up-if I could use my toes it would be four!!! I also loved being able to Aspen the fitness center located right next door.

where's the phone?

My wife had to stay in the Hotel for a short duration while we were waiting to close on our house in WDM. There was no way to direct call her if her cell phone went down. I called the main desk at 8:00 pm and there was no way to call up to her room. They should call these efficiency apartments and not an extended stay hotel if they are not going to provide room phones and a switchboard. Oh yeah - remember the super plasticized matresses from a summer cabin, just like it; and bring your own sheets - hers smelled like feet!!! It was cheap, close to her work, and she wanted to save the money - I guess I married very wisely :)

Good for What it Was

Initially I was taken aback but for what you need in transition its a good value. Full size fridge, somewhat sloppy double bed, and decent dinette. I love the high speed internet wireless access. The membership to the Aspen gym was hassle free. Location was good with good access to amenities. Having a laundry on premise was also a god-send. Cable includes HBO. Key card access. No maid service. Hot water for showers any time. The only downfall was the nature of the guests that reside there. Lots of "down on your luck"-type smokers. I'd recommend that if your an executive type this won't be your crowd. But as values go you do get your money's worth.

They were good at first

I didn't have a problem at first with the non smoking thing. This was an extended stay option. Ever since they decided to stick a toilet outside the window and just leave it there that has changed. The pool is gone, a toilet has been permanently stuck outside the window, and I'm still expected to go outside for a smoke. Time for me to move on. We smokers are obviously more concerned with our environment than the military exsmokers. Anybody that shoves a toilet under the noses of the guests has no right telling them that they are not allowed to smoke in the room. There are some good things about this place mind you, some of the service is actually quite good, that which is left. Very few are left and they do the best they can accordingly. I just had to say my piece before I left, it was good at one time but it is on it's way down fast.
