Not at all what we expected
At our first arrival the hotel was wonderful, but we couldn't get the room tempture to be even as cool as the hallways.I notified the front desk of our problem and it was "fixed" by maintence twice! Never did cool the room down. We stayed for 7 days because of a conference we were attending otherwise we would have changed hotels. Wake up calls are hit and miss. 2 days they were right on time and 2 days we were lucky that my husband has an internal alarm clock because we never recieved the wake up calls. Also, with numerous bags i requested a cart be brought up the morning we were leaving. I was informed by the staff that they dont "loan out" their carts. On an up note the full size, yes, double rooms come with only full size beds! are very nice, the linens are top notch and the towels are king size which was the only large thing about our room. For the money and hype I was expecting a spacious room. The beds were so close to the TV that 2 people could not pass through at the same time. Our trip to Des Moines was wonderful and the kids loved riding the elevator and playing in the pool, but next time we will NOT be staying at the Marriott.
