Des Moines Marriott Downtown, Des Moines

I have been a couple of times to Des Moines, IA , Mostly my target visit is the mall. I really do not know much other places than that in Des Moines. It seems a nice place, nice people, But their is a lot of road work on I235 Which makes driving a hassle. And makes the city look ugly and old. Hope it ends soon. So I can drive less worried of traffic and enjoy more a view of Des moines.

I loved the fact that we were traveling with our two cats and they not only allowed them in the room but they have a special card to hang on your door so that the cleaning crew know that you have an animal in the room and to watch for them. When checking in I asked about their animal policy and they said that Mariott as a whole allows all animals into their hotels as long as the owner takes care of them, I was completely suprised by that statement since it was such a nice hotel, but we had a great stay and can't wait to go back and visit again.

Well I loved how there was an indoor pool and a jacuzzi (hot tubcuzzi)! I think that the sauna was cool. The service was good but they can be better like this one guy had major bad b.o. Overall I liked the hotel. We're going to visit again soon!

Excellent!! Close to a wonderful mall. My husband and I had a wonderful evening meal. We will defiantly stay again!! I do think the halls could have been cleaner. Over all a very good experience!! Pool and workout area very good!!

We've stayed a number of times at this hotel, and keep coming back. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. Nice amenities. Great staff. Decent restaurant. We'll back back.

At our first arrival the hotel was wonderful, but we couldn't get the room tempture to be even as cool as the hallways.I notified the front desk of our problem and it was "fixed" by maintence twice! Never did cool the room down. We stayed for 7 days because of a conference we were attending otherwise we would have changed hotels. Wake up calls are hit and miss. 2 days they were right on time and 2 days we were lucky that my husband has an internal alarm clock because we never recieved the wake up calls. Also, with numerous bags i requested a cart be brought up the morning we were leaving. I was informed by the staff that they dont "loan out" their carts. On an up note the full size, yes, double rooms come with only full size beds! are very nice, the linens are top notch and the towels are king size which was the only large thing about our room. For the money and hype I was expecting a spacious room. The beds were so close to the TV that 2 people could not pass through at the same time. Our trip to Des Moines was wonderful and the kids loved riding the elevator and playing in the pool, but next time we will NOT be staying at the Marriott. Sincerly, one very disappointed traveler.

Perfect downtown location. Excellent views from top floors. Clean, well-maintained, excellent service, and quiet inside the rooms. Excellent value (especially if you get government rate). The only potential disadvantage is that your only option for hotel parking is valet (but that is becoming more common everywhere).

The rooms in this hotel are amazing, very classy. Customer service was great and helpful. Can't beat the price. We recently stayed at a 4 star hotel in Chicago for $250/night. The Marriot Des Moines was 100 times better at less than half the cost.
