STAY AWAY!!!!
By Deb, 8/21/08
The hotel is filled with bugs and the walls and ceiling is falling apart. There was a door that wasn't hung correctly and fell on my 2 year old daughter. There was a dirty diaper that stayed by the side of the pool for 2 days and they don't use chlorine in their pool or hot tub. There are plenty of nicer hotels in the town of Fort Dodge, stay at one of those.

BED BUGS!
By Kris, 8/14/08
Pulled sheets back to get into bed and discovered 12 -15 live, mature bedbugs on the sheet. BED BUGS!!! We travel for business, staying in motels up to 10 months per year and have NEVER seen anything like this! We're talking health hazards. Spent the night in the car in the parking lot. Phone in room didn't work. Complaints to the front desk clerk and corporate office have gone unanswered to date. This motel is currently known as Quality Inn, Fort Dodge, Iowa. AND YES, I PAID $72.00 FOR THE ROOM... it's the last dollar that either of these franchises will ever receive from anyone in my family.

BUGS, BUGS, BUGS!!!
By Linda J., 8/8/06
My husband and I stayed here 7-17-06 thru 7-19-06 and it wasn't pleasant. The first room we got, the card/key wouldn't work in the door. The second room they gave us was not cleaned yet.....messed up sheets, etc. The 3rd room key worked on the inside door, but not on the outside door where our car was parked, so we had to walk all the way around to get back into our room. We should have got the clue and not stayed there after all this, but we did. We noticed bugs crawling all over the bathroom and asked the front desk to please have someone spray the room. Next day, same problems, still bugs. They never sprayed!!! I complained at front desk after checking out and he/worker apologized, but nothing he could do. He said a lot of things didn't work in this motel/inn. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. Will not be a repeat when we are in area again. Would like to report it to main headquarters, but don't know the address. Any help?

HUGE WARNING!!!!!
By Janet, 6/18/06
WARNING: To all parents with young children and pet owners, RAT POISON is kept within easy reach behind the dresser in all rooms. Host claimed she didn't know about the poison. This is a very old hotel that has not been taken care of or updated. The outside door did not lock and our room door was hard to open and close. If we did not stay there to forcefully close it ourself our room would have been accessible to anyone. There was garbage left around the bed and behind the curtains. The bed sheets were stained, some with blood. Hot tub was out of use and the pool water was filthy dirty. The breakfast was nothing to brag about, had a limited selection and had no type of meat. Hotel staff were scarce and uncooperative. DO NOT leave valuables in room. An item was missing from our room after we left with our dogs for the day. We asked the hostess and she confessed that a lot of other guests complained of missing items from their rooms. She said she would keep her eye out for the missing item but didn't care to take down any information about it until we asked her to. Hotel sign boasted "Under new management" but I don't think that is a good thing. Hotel is quite a drive from good restaurants and shopping. Their prices are too much for their poor service and quality. I read the reviews but thought positively about our up-coming stay at this hotel and it was a BIG mistake. Do not make the same mistake I did. Heed the warnings please and do not trust this hotel.

My wife and I were looking for a hotel in Fort Dodge for the weekend and saw your reviews. It helped me narrow down the list.

terrible hotel!
By Mary Jo, 7/11/05
We reserved 3 non-smoking rooms that were adjoining for our July 9th, 2005 stay there. We received 3 rooms scattered throughout the hotel and they were stinking, nasty smelling smoking rooms. Also, one of our rooms had no working air conditioning, one of the rooms had no cold water so we couldn't shower because we only had scalding hot water. The tv remotes were either missing or did not have batteries in them. The hotel also ran short of towels and pillows so not guest got one. Each time we complained the front desk promised to send maintenance up to correct the problem but no one ever came. This was such a bad experience and we will never stay there again.

Worst Stay EVER!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/8/04
Durring my trip I decided to stay at a well known name "HOLIDAY INN"! This is in no way to even be compared to "Holiday Inn"! The beds were covered in dirty sheets, the food was terriable, our waitress was far from being a waitress, the entire staff seemed to not know what was going on, and when I asked for the "Manager", she was found in the "Lounge" (wich was more like a slum town bar) and happened to be rather intoxicated! On my travels I now know NOT to ever stop just because of a name!! Take my information and do with it what you will, but if you decide to stay there, be warned!!
