Quality Inn Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids

I made a guaranteed reservation for a room with 2 double beds, we had four people staying in one room. I made the reservation a month in advance, called the week of our reservation and again the day we were to check in to insure that our room would be held for us, I was assured it would be. When we arrived all they had left was one room with one king size bed with no roll away beds left at all. With all the other hotels in the area booked, we decided we had no choice but to take the room and have some of us sleep on the floor. When we checked in to room 102 we found that it was actually a conference room with a full sized (not king sized) murphy bed that pulled down from a wall unit. The air conditioner was pulled out from the wall, there were several table and apx. 20 chairs stacked in the corner, the tv was pulled out from the wall and on a cart, their was a safe locked to a cement block on the floor, the room reeked of smoke, and the bed had obviously been sat/layed on, there was a penny on the comforter and the pillow had an indentation on it. It was late, but needless to say we got back in the car and drove on. When we called management to complain the following week, we were greeted by an extreamly rude manager who basically had no explaination as to why our room was not saved and really didn't care in the least bit. There are many nice hotels in Cedar Rapids, but this is definately not one of them!!!

Room was filthy, not enough staff working, so I borrowed the vacuum cleaner! Second day, same scenario. Sheets were even questionnable, some pillows had no cases. BEWARE!

Disregard that positive review because they said that they have applied for a job there and if they live close enough to work there I doubt they have stayed there. If you remove that review from the equation you see the real score of this dump.

Banging pipes, hard boiled eggs that were brown with green yolks, green pool water (that we found out was unsafe) Pool water ruined our swimsuits, sand in the whirlpool, very rude staff…do you think we’ll go back???? I think not!!
