WORST HOTEL EVER
By jewelz, 12/10/09
This was easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. They lied about our rate (we called twice before arriving to confirm) and charged 120 a night!!! THe hotel was absolutely filthy with the shower head rusted and disconnected from the wall. There was no pool. No restaurant or any of the mentioned facilities. There was a party next door that was being obnoxious!! We told the front desk and they told the room next door that we had complained.....we could hear threats through the wall!!!!!!!!! HELL!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Dirt City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/08
Warning - do not stay at this hotel!!!!! Here is my list of special things I was treated to during my stay: No blankets No heat Broken TV remote The ceiling leaked - dripped all night 3 out of 4 lamps had no bulbs Toilet was not secured well to the floor The phone was filthy!!! The carpet was dirty and stained Musty smell Rude personnel Don't try and call their corporate office to get your money back for all of this luxury - they're just as rude as the people behind the desk. trust me - keep away from this place.

Don't Stay Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/07
This hotel is as worn out as anything I've ever seen. The entire place is falling apart. Everywhere smells damp and musty. Power went out twice. Shower went from cold to hot to cold to hot while you're in it. TV remote didn't work. The beds may as well have been hammocks. The "security" hallway door had the keyhole lock completely removed. AC worked but was at about 110 decibels. And because it was a home football weekend, we were charged $89 per night to stay in this dive! At least the sheets were clean (I hope).

they should be ashamed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/07
A word too the wise. DO NOT stay at this hotel. It was a sleepless night. The bed was hard, and smelled like a dirty ash tray. The counter in the bathroom was falling apart and several broken and missing tiles at the base of the wall. The room was just dirty. You can get all this and more for a weekend price of 89 dollars. I tried to get my money back but there are no refunds here. They should be ashamed to charge 89 dollars a night for the room that I stayed in.

It's All She Can Give!
By Scott M, 09/08/06
This old girl of a hotel is just used up. It was opened at a "Hilton Motor Hotel" in the late 1960s with that cheap boxy Travel Lodge-style cinder block construction. I spent a night there last week. When I was in college at Purdue around 2000, the hotel went tried to rejuvinate itself by renovating their lobby, reopeneing the dinning room and making other superficial improvements. This lasted for a while, but the hotel has fallen into serious disrepair/dilapidation, the restaurant has closed and their weeds are overgrowing all of the "landscaped" areas of the cracked concrete parking parking lot. Such a cheaply built structure was not made to be used for so long. There is currently a "for sale" sign on the property. I will say that the room was very clean, safe and the cable TV, air conditioning and heating worked. If you want to get one last whif of "untouched Americana" before the property is sold and the wrecking ball arrives, I recommend that you make your reservations ASAP. Brought back many memories of those long summer family vacations in the 1970s traveling acrooss country in the ole' Doge Sedan.

internationally approved!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/06
I'm a Belgian girl and stayed in the Family Inn for 3 nights while I was looking for a room near the Purdue University. The staff was not difficult about an extension of leave and once I found a room I could leave my stuff there until I could really move in.

Needs...something!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/04/06
I checked in on May 31 and stayed three nights. The amenities listed on the internet were all crossed off at the hotel but one: Cable TV. The pool wasn't working; there was no hot water (said they have a new boiler by Friday but then changed that for the next week)! The clerks were great and really tried. The manager said he'd let me have the room for $20/night...so i took it... BUT be aware that there is no pay-per-view, no AC (wasn't working), no morning breakfast (just B+ coffee), and no in room amenities. They did have a wonderful boutique I got a great haircut in downstairs and there is something resembling a lounge open at night. This place has potential if only...but it needs...something! Or someone! Will pay the extra $$$ next time.

horrible hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/06
After driving all night long for 12 hours, I got to this hotel at 5 in the morning and after passing out I woke up in the next morning with no hot water. So I called the help desk and they said they knew they had no hot water and forget to tell me, yet they were going to continue to charge me for that night that I stayed and charge me the full rate. I never would have driven all night to get there or stayed there for the night had they been courteous enough to tell me they had no hot water. It was a horrible experience and I had to spend the rest of the day trying to find a new hotel since I wasn't from the area and they didn't even offer to give me locations of surrouding hotels. Maybe next time I go to a hotel I better ask whether they have beds, toilets and electricity.
