The best hotel I never stayed in
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/07
I never saw the hotel. Because of the untimely death of a close friend the night before I was scheduled to leave, I had no choice but to cancel my plans. I hoped that Yahoo! Travel would make an exception to their policy and issue me a refund for the two-night hotel rate that was charged up front. It seemed appropriate considering the circumstances - the death of a close friend coupled with the fact that I'm a college student on a very tight budget. but they didn't budge. no refund was issued, despite my attempts. because of their less-than-admirable business ethics, i think i'll avoid making reservations through these corporate drones in the future.

Great for business travel
By jennifer, 9/14/05
Very hip and trendy place - rooms decorated in modern sleek tones, very comfortable beds. Great location for business travel since it's right in the loop! Funky house music for happy hours too, very cool.

A scene, but not too much
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/27/05
I have been to several W Hotels and this one is a great example of their genre. It has a hip and trendy vibe, but not unwelcoming. The bar is very fun, both in the lobby and upstairs. The restaurant, Waves, is very good. I have never had an impolite or bad experience with any of the staff there. All are professional and well informed. If they don't know the answer, they get it for you.

typical W - if you like them, this is great
By carolyn, 11/15/04
This is a typical W hotel in a great area. Conveniently located right in the Loop, this hotel is great for business travellers. It is accessible to the el, as well as Marta (regional train). The staff was gracious and helpful. The bar downstairs is good, but not great (fairly small). The restaurant is ok (expensive).

wow
By awake in America, 9/15/05
We loved the Aveda products for quests use. Also, the overall atmosphere of the hotel. The decor was very simplistic but trendy. We also loved how comfortable the bedding was. Down comforters and pillows were so sumptuous! The mattress was extremely comfortable. The staff was very personable. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

First-timer
By CarolynD, 9/26/05
The BEDS and the shower were amazing! Not your typical hotel pillows, towels, anything....this is not your typical hotel! When you walk in, you feel like your at a night club and not a hotel lobby. We even had to ask someone if we were at the right place. We chose this hotel because of the price - next time, I'll pay up to be more near to Michigan Avenue, etc. All in all.....a great place to lay your head and get cleaned up for a day of fun in Chicago.

It's Beautiful
What I mostly enjoyed was the lounge area, it is the best place to just sit and relax, the employees are so friendly and they showed great customer service.
