do not be deceived
In Yahoo!'s travel directory, this motel claims to have a "car rental desk", a "business center", dry cleaning, and even a "tennis court". BULL****! There was no sign of any of these when I stayed there; this is actually just an ordinary motel by an interstate highway. The rooms are said to be furnished with an iron, an ironing board, a refrigerator, and a microwave oven. None of these were in my room. It gets better. The "dining" that is mentioned turned out to be vending machines and free doughnuts and coffee in the morning. And "conventions"? This is not even remotely the type of hotel that the typical convention would consider. The "game room" is just a nonfunctioning arcade game in the lobby. In different parts of the listing, the motel is said to have 10, 110, and 117 rooms. The latter two numbers are more accurate, the former is just way off. Last, but not least, is the "outdoor pool". Yes, once upon a time, there was a pool at this motel. But it was closed and removed years ago. At the motel, I noticed a new lobby being built. Visible from the parking lot, a model room was displayed each evening. Its curtains were opened and its light was left on and it had a refrigerator and a modern phone. My room had no refrigerator, but it had an old phone with cracked plastic. During my stay I noticed that the motel has roaches. The carpet in the hallways was stained and stinky and had holes in it. The hard floor by the vending machines was so dirty that my shoes and other guests' shoes stuck to it. YUCK! The inside of my room was nice. The beds were comfortable. The bedspread was beautiful and made the room look snazzy. The shower curtain had mildew on it. I liked the classy, high-quality soap and shampoo, they were better than what I find at many pricier establishments. The weekly rate was surprisingly low. There is nothing wrong with owning and operating a cheap, plain motel. What disturbs me is the management's use of the Yahoo! travel directory, the model room, and the new lobby to deceive the public. Stop pretending that your dirty, dilapidated dump is a quality hotel with wonderful amenities and facilities. Instead, make the necessary repairs, replace the carpets, and clean your motel.

A REAL DUMP
By Midwest Traveler, 03/13/07
I usualy stay at Moel 6 in East Peoria, but becuase of "March Madness" bsketball I was forced to find another motel ... I reserved a room at Kings Inn after looking at thier Yellow Pages ad on Yahoo ... the whole place smelled awful, a mixture of urine, smoke and disenfectant ... the halls, parking lot, etc were all dirty with piles of stinking trash everywhere ... the outside back door was broke the whole time I was there and I was locked out more than once ... on the weekend the place was like an "Animal House" with high school and college kids partying all night ... I encountered more than one scary junkie-type people in the halls when I was there ... the room was filthy, the toilet didn't flush properly, no hot water, I had no room service at all during my 5 day stay ... don't be fooled by thier Yellow Pages ad, this place is a DUMP and scary.

Never Ever Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/06
A few days ago, my man and I were forced, because of a lack of anywhere else, to book into the King's Inn. Upon our arrival, the smell overtook us. The entire building smelled awful. The room had a run down double bed. The bathroom sink had cracks in it and tub was disgusting. We had cockroaches on the walls and on the floor. The telephone line didn't work, and there was only one lamp that worked in the entire room..We were charged over $84, including tax. We checkout first thing in the morning, after, fortuneately, finding another accomodation. We had no idea, when we booked it, that it needed to be torn down and rebuilt. I would like our money back!!~!If anyone knows a way to get a refund, please contact me. d

Not a good experience
By TawnyaM, 03/20/06
* The hotel is not well maintained * The room we stayed in was less than what is considered "clean". There was this awful smell in our room (the entire hotel) that nearly made us sick. *The clerk at the front desk was less than pleasant We checked in and made the long walk to our room. We opened the door, turned around and walked back out. We spent some time on the phone trying to find another hotel to stay with. After we found another hotel, we checked out of the Kings Inn. After some debate with the desk clerk regarding the origin of the odor that is present throughout the entire hotel we were given a refund.
