Wonderful Stay
By Me, 01/16/10
Our stay was from January 1- 9th, 2010. The hotel stay was very comfortable and so was the location. The room is very nice. Good queen bed and flat screen TV, cheap channels. Free Internet; take your laptop to use in the privacy of your room. They do not have the complimentary breakfast anymore. I loved the fact that the Hilton hotel is located across the street. I also noticed that sand on the beach is cleaned in this area. The streets are also so much quieter then in the middle. However, everything is in walking distance if you want to go that way. The Zoo is about a 30-minute walk. Take the bus if you do not feel like walking. Buses are always running every 15 minutes. Wal-Mart & Ross are also about a 30-minute walk. Stay at this hotel and enjoy the beauty and luxury of Hilton. If you like to party then this is not the place for you. Nevertheless, you can always enjoy the nightlife by walking to the middle of Waikiki that's were all the action is. Every Friday there are fireworks by the beach near Hilton. Eat at the restaurant Tropics and enjoy the fireworks, just come early it’s a 50-minute wait on Friday. We didn’t feel like eating at restaurants every day so we bought food at Wal-Mart and stocked our fridge and freezer. We also went to sea life park, 50-minute bus ride. Really enjoyed it even if it was small. Have fun. Use lots of sunscreen and gradually enjoy the sun an hour more each day. My sister and I got burned in 1 day and I still used sunscreen. If you really want to get burned , do so on the last two days. The weather in January was very hot in the 80. Had only one cloudy day.

Excellent hotel! I can't wait to go back!
By Sue, 03/10/09
It is an excellent hotel. Location in good and convenient. Just 5mn to 10 mn to the Waikiki beach. The International Market Place is just 20 mn from the hotel. If you don't want to walk, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. The staffs are nice. The room is clean. The hotel offers an unlimited continental breakfast which included muffins, danish or croissants, coffee and juices (pineapple, orange, guava) every morning near the pool. The hotel also offers a complimentary fresh brew coffee and tea in the lobby. I'm sure I will go back to Aqua Palm next time I go the Waikiki again!

Friendly Helpful Staff & Great Location!
By Catherine, 01/02/09
LOVE - the staff! Front desk gives great directions and advice for local excursions. Housekeeping staff (Francesca was great!) was friendly and accommodating. Great view of Diamond Head. Can walk to Ala Moana for a great swim, or head over to Hilton beach for something shorter. Big flat screen TV, comfy bed, and Continental Breakfast is a great way to get your day started in Waikiki! They also check out beach towels at the front desk, so don't bother packing one! I also liked the location away from the main Waikiki hustle and bustle, but it's within walking distance of everywhere you want to see. Would definately stay again! Mahalo!

This place is a dump. Run away, fast.
By BobbySFV, 11/02/08
Very old building, the place is a joke; it's like living in a warehouse. Deceptive prices on parking, dirty walls, carpet, ceiling, etc. I've seen cleaner Motel 6's.

I would go back there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/08
We've stayed @ the Grand Wailea, Hilton & Hyatt's.It does not have the tropical landscape and the palm tree ambience but the beds are comfy, the view of Diamond Head was spectacular, the hot water for showers was immediate, the corner diner was good and it had a small kitchenette fully equipped. And the whole five days we never waited for more than a minute for an elavator.

I wouldn't go back here.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/08
Reading all the reviews...looks like lots of people think this place is a good value. NOT ME! We stayed 5 nights there. Had a king bed, the TV was up on the ceiling (not great for bending our necks!). Our coffee pot was never emptied or cleaned. The maid left her cleaning rag, didn't replace with clean glass in the bathroom one night. The sink was clogged (slow going down). The rattan chairs were uncomfortable, and 2 people really were squashed sitting in the room...not too much room to turn around! We NEVER saw any "continental breakfast" in the lobby. And thought it was ridiculous to pay for coffee from that "machine". It should have been free. The "ice room", which should have been our floor (signs were posted) (6th floor)---had a typed sign telling us to go to the parking level, where the ice machines are located. Again, not user-friendly, having to wait for an elevator just to get ice! The parking spaces were tiny as well as the ramps were narrow...had to be careful! Also, they charged $18/day to park! I guess they had to, since this was very near downtown Waikiki. We had "free complimentary" parking when we went to Maui! The carpeting in the hallways was filthy! This was our first time in Oahu. I booked this hotel just by researching reviews at different sites, and picked it. Gosh! What an experience! I WILL NOT GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL!

Great Hotel for the price!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/31/08
We spent 6 nights in the hotel in October 2007 (our honeymoon) and if we ever go back to Waikiki, it will be to stay in the same hotel. We made reservations way in advance and asked for a room in a higher floor and away from the elevators. Both requests were fulfilled with no questions or additional reminders on our part. The room was very nice, clean, the bathroom was recently remodeled and couldn't look better, we were supplied daily with coffee and tea bags for the coffe maker. 2 complimentary mineral waters were waiting for us when we arrived as well as a little book with savings for local venues. My husband booked a massage with the hotel's spa and loved every minute of it! There is a convenient bus stop 3-4 minutes away from the hotel, as well as many shops and places within a walking distance. The staff was always happy to assist us with anything they could. There is a continental breakfast every morning, which we took advantage of only 2 days during out stay but enjoyed it. We couldn't afford a pricier place and what we got for our money was more than we expected!

Great for the people looking beyond Waikiki
By Jessica, 03/03/08
This was a great hotel for people who want to go outside of Honolulu Waikiki area. It is a affordable hotel for people who want to be close to the beach/Waikiki shopping district. Pros: 1. Tour Groups know exactly where you are and pick you up right in front of your hotel (some hotels require pick-up in sketchy loading dock) 2. Aqua Palms is in between the Waikiki Row of shops and Ala Moana hotel 3. Aqua Palms is on bus system that can take you to north shore. Take bus right in front of the hotel to Ala Moana Mall Bus Transfer and take 55 or 52 to North Shore- so easy. 4. The studio rooms are just the right size for 1 person- bed, desk, nice patio, nice bathroom 5. Pool in the sun is very nice. Cons: 1. The "double" rooms are a little tight. 2 queens actually mean 1 queen and 1 couch pull-out. No problem for my friend and I, but big problems for any family that needs space to walk around. 2. Breakfast should have more of a Hawaii flair. Muffins and buns don't do it for me. 3. Not a lot of info for heading to the beach. 4. No wifi working...I'm stuck at the desk.

We will be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/29/08
This was our first visit to Oahu and we will be going back. The hotel was in a great location for us since we didn't rent a car. Most things were within walking distance. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The only drawback would be the continental breakfast. It would be nice to have some other foods besides sweet rolls. There was really nothing for me since I am a diabetic. It would be nice to have had some toast or cereal as well. Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada
