first timer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/09
we came in Feb of 09 alot of consruction that slowed the entrance to the pool/beach.The people were great but the rooms was old and tired. they looked like they were build and decorated in the 60sWe were upgraded to a suite on the 19 th floor birds eye view but a lower floor would have been better. The whole decor of the lobby and floors was very dated.Coffee shops ete open very late to use before any tours.

Worst hotel in Waikiki - like an old Motel 6!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/1/09
Here is the quote from the "gentleman" working the Front Desk at the Sheraton in response to my question about where was the ocean view I paid for: "Sir - if you step out on your balcony and look over to the left you should be able to see a slice of ocean. We receive lots of complaints like yours, but there is really nothing we can do about it."

Hated every minute
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/09
Their is no access for handicap persons. The concierge has no knowledge of area and services. Pool closes at 5P - not so nuce when on vacation one would expect it to stay open later. Rooms have stains on carpet and cockroaches in rooms. Valet parking attendees are rude. Hotel restaurants food is expensive and terrible, served cold.

The View!!!
By ChristopherJ, 7/25/06
If for no other reason, this hotel has one of the greatest views I have ever seen. On the balcony (better from higher floors) you can see a panaramic view of the ocean. Although the beach is skimpy along the hotel(meaning not much sand area along the hotels border) the ocean is not missing at all! we sat on the balcony and watched sea turtles poke their heads up to breath! Probably the highlight of the whole trip! Also, beds were soft and comfortable, showers and bathrooms were nicely updated and modern, service was friendly and quick (need a towel, its there in less than 5 minutes), and its nicely located to shopping and nightlife.

Nice hotel on the ocean
By Mr. Bean, 5/11/05
My daughter and I just returned from a 3 night stay. They had initially given us a king size bed, but we requested two beds and they cleaned a room for us and gave us a room with two double beds on the 28th floor with a view of the mountains (not Diamondhead), the city and the ocean (from the patio). The room itself was nice and quiet (my pet peeve). I did not have to listen to the neighbors at all, although housekeeping staff could be heard through the door. Would have loved to have a Diamondhead view, however. They do charge for coffee and there is a stocked mini-bar. Parking is $10/day with in/out. Gym facilities seemed decent, although I can't say I used it Lots of Japanese weddings. Excellent location. We also stayed at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider and it's a tossup which I prefered. The room itself and the view from the room we had were better here, but the ambience of the Moana is better. The Moana feels classier. Location is a tossup. If we hadn't had such a nice room location at the Moana I may prefer this hotel just for the nicer, larger rooms.

A week of enjoyment and sun
By Rod, 6/9/05
Taking the whole family we thought there might be some problems but what we all had was a fantastic time! The hotel was beautiful. The staff went out of their way to please us with comfort. Located right on the beach was another benefit with the kids as well as walking distance to numerous stores and restaurants. A week of pure enjoyment.

50th Celebration
By T, 2/11/11
My family and I went there in celebration of my 50th birthday. This hotel was fantastic! We had ocean front views and it was beautiful. Our breakfast was included w/our package. The food and service was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. It was in a prime location and had everything you needed. The hotel is very accommodating. My dislike had nothing to do w/the hotel but rather the guest. In spite of, I would highly recommend this hotel.
