Beautiful lobby, dirty rooms
By ,
The Sheraton Waikiki is one of many beautiful hotels on Waikiki Beach. It's situated beachfront in the prime area if Waikiki. The lobby is very large with modern furniture. We've traveled to Honolulu every year. Last summer we decided to book a room there. The check-in process with smooth and the clerk was very friendly. When we arrived in our room, we were astonished how dirty it was. There were stains on the carpet. The bathroom was filthy. The tiles on the floor had mildew and dirty grout. The bath mat in the tub was stained. The room was so bad that we called the front desk and asked for another room. It took about an hour, but they finally got us another room. The room was slightly better. I think hotel management needs to do a better job of maintaining their rooms. We would not stay here again. The rooms are not worth the price.

50th Celebration
By ,
My family and I went there in celebration of my 50th birthday. This hotel was fantastic! We had ocean front views and it was beautiful. Our breakfast was included w/our package. The food and service was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. It was in a prime location and had everything you needed. The hotel is very accommodating. My dislike had nothing to do w/the hotel but rather the guest. In spite of, I would highly recommend this hotel.

We can't wait to go back!
By ,
After reading other reviews I was somewhat concerned but everything turned out great. The staff was helpful and courteous and we received more than we asked for. We were upgraded and had a view of the mountain, city and partial ocean view and connecting rooms as requested. Two years ago we stayed at the Hilton and were disappointed but the Sheraton Waikiki more than made up for it. It is in a great location, had great beach access and the kids loved the pool. I would absolutely love to be there again.

Beautiful Hotel
By ,
Me, my wife & 2 small daughters stayed in an oceanfront room for Fathers Day weekend. The location was amazing, overlooking the beach with a great view of Diamond head & the swimming pool directly on the water. The kiddy pool was great for my toddler & my older daughter loved the waterslides & hot tubs. We had sunset drinks & appetizers at the Rumfire bar after an afternoon swim & it was excellent. My room was fair sized, well maintained, clean & the patio had the best view ever. I saw at least 5 turtles swimming below my room & watched the paddle surfers catch waves as I sipped on cold beers, a very enjoyable experience. The pool & beach were never overcrowded & the guests were mostly families & friendly Japanese tourists. The only drawback is the food was very exensive, but we were glad they conveniently have a Baskin robbins & Peets cofee. There are cheaper places to eat & go shopping at the nearby International marketplace or if you have a rental car like we did, you can save a little money by driving over to Safeway for drinks & snacks. We ate on Kapahulu ave & every day we would cruise over to Shimazu shaved ice nearby on School st. We visited Hanauma bay, Sea Life park, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki beach, Pearl Harbor & Nuuani Pali lookout. Overall the experience was awesome, I would highly recommend this Hotel.

Fantastic! Wish that we could have stayed longer.
By ,
Our week-long stay in ocean front rooms at the Sheraton Waikiki was pure paradise! During the third week of March, our family of 7 shared adjoining rooms with a roll-away bed in each and there was plenty of space. There was ample closet space with floor to ceiling shelves in addition to hanging space that contained all of our clothing and luggage. The amenities and location can't be beat. Our view from the balcony was breathtaking. We had a clear view of the beautiful blue water, Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. The infinity pool and family pool were incredible. There were plenty of lounge chairs and the staff was very attentive and accomodating. The beach access and activities were awesome. You could take a surfing lesson, cruise on a catamaran, rent an outrigger canoe or snorkel, just to name a few. Restaurants and shopping were within walking distance. Everything was so close that we only needed to rent a car for one day which was arranged by the helpful staff at the concierge desk. The lobby contained an area with free wireless access as well as 8 computers for guest use. I was able to check my email, read my local newspaper, and print my boarding passes for the flight home, and my husband was able to conduct his business each day using his company laptop. The ages of our group ranged from 11 to 71, and it was an awesome experience for everyone. I would highly recommend the Sheraton Waikiki.

Worst hotel in Waikiki - like an old Motel 6!
By ,
Here is the quote from the "gentleman" working the Front Desk at the Sheraton in response to my question about where was the ocean view I paid for: "Sir - if you step out on your balcony and look over to the left you should be able to see a slice of ocean. We receive lots of complaints like yours, but there is really nothing we can do about it."

first timer
By ,
we came in Feb of 09 alot of consruction that slowed the entrance to the pool/beach.The people were great but the rooms was old and tired. they looked like they were build and decorated in the 60sWe were upgraded to a suite on the 19 th floor birds eye view but a lower floor would have been better. The whole decor of the lobby and floors was very dated.Coffee shops ete open very late to use before any tours.

Hated every minute
By ,
Their is no access for handicap persons. The concierge has no knowledge of area and services. Pool closes at 5P - not so nuce when on vacation one would expect it to stay open later. Rooms have stains on carpet and cockroaches in rooms. Valet parking attendees are rude. Hotel restaurants food is expensive and terrible, served cold.

worth the wait
By ,
It was a dream vacation that was truly realized. My wife and I would go back in a second. The room service was rather exorbitant, but it usually is at any vacation hotspot.
