Great deal for the price
By Rosie, 5/8/06
My husband, 5 month old and myself stayed from April 27th until May 4th. It was a decent deal. For $80 a night it was 5 blocks from the beach, 3.5 blocks from the nearest OHana hotel with a pool. On Site laundry was limited to 3 washers and 3 dryers, but wasn't busy during our stay. The bed spread was a bit mildewy and water pressure in the shower was low. Bath tub was small as well as the bathroom, hard to get it when someone else is in already (i.e. trying to bathe baby). Lobby was very well taken care of although the rooms were not as well kept as the lobby, a little outdated, but to be expected. Was a very nice stay. Bellmen smoked right in front of you, but as does everyone else there. Short walk to international marketplace. Next time I will pay a little more and stay closer to the beach only because the walk was a little far with a baby. Seaside bar and grill was an awesome place to eat for cheap and it was good food. I would stay here again if I didn't have the baby traveling with us. They did have a crib to provide, but we didn't use.

Disappointing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/16/07
The front desk staff has no aloha spirit. They are rude and discriminating. The hotel itself is nice, the location is very good. The rooms are okay but the terrace is very small. There is no view!

My parents loved it !!
By JonL, 2/8/08
My sister and I booked a holiday for our parents (all through Yahoo travel) and put them up at the Ohana Waikiki Malia. They were thrilled! Thrilled at the service (everybody remembered their name!,) location, and cleanliness of the room. If my parent's reaction is any indication, you or your family will be equally thrillled!

This is our 9th visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/21/07
This hotel is very good. We enjoyed our stay and will be returning in 2007. The staff were very helpful and we would recommend it to anyone. Very convenient within walking distance of the Markets and shopping.

Beautiful rooms & view!
By Kissilicious, 7/2/06
Our stay was unexpectedly extended and the Ohana Waikiki West was booked so we had to change hotels. We booked into a 1 bedroom suite at the Malia just 4 blocks down the road. The quality of this hotel was a bit nicer than the Ohana West, but then it is a few blocks farther down from the heart of Waikiki and yet still within walking distance to everything. The parking garage was better than the one at West once you made it up the nearly verticle incline! Again, the garage is well staffed with attendants who were always available to help park. One of the nicest features was the dual AC controls for the bedroom and living area. Overall the suite was very nice and certainly roomy enough for up to 4 if need be. There was a kitchenette as well, but this one did not have a microwave. Overall, excellent choice and I would highly recommend!

Will be back next year!
This was our third visit to the Malia....and one of the best experiences yet! We were there for nine days and enjoyed every minute. Although we started out with having to change rooms, the staff was very accomodating and willing to go that extra step to make us feel comfortable. Dollar for dollar..the Malia is a great place to stay. The housekeeping staff is excellent and the front desk was outstanding, fast and efficient. With the addition of the new IHOP on the property...it was so convenient and easy to have breakfast prior to leaving for the day. The parking facilities are a bit cramped...but the parking staff is so very helpful (Thank you Ruth!) We were in Waikiki during the earthquake and even that was made as comfortable as possible. With no electricity in the rooms during the long 15 hours...hotel guests sat together in the hallways like a party!
