Prepare to be disappointed.
By LNI, 8/2/12
Where to start.......Valet only parking. The check in counter is on the 3rd floor. This may not seem like an issue, but you cannot use the elevator without a room key. Once you check in (you will pay a $10 Amenity feeeven if you don't plan to use them), you can go to your room via the elevator. To use the elevator, you go to a centralized key pad where you swipe you room key and punch in the floor number. The lcd screen will then tell you what elevator to use. Move fast because if you miss it, you have to start over again. Now that you've arrived on your floor and make it to your room, you'll open the door to your 80 degree room and see what appears to be the original furnishings from when the hotel was originally built. The carpet is sticky/dirty. I don't even want to walk on it without my flops. There is no wireless connectivity.....only wired (part of the $10 you paid at check in) Bathroom....old....poorly refinsihed...lacking any appeal. The bed.....as a frequent taveler, I can tell you the quality of the bed is at thebtop of my list and the quaility of the beds here is at the bottom. While I doubt they are as old as the furniture, they are surely old and in need of a replacement You'll love the !8" deep lanai with no room for even the smallest chair ovwrlooking the rooms in the other tower that are nearly close enough to jump accross to. Great view of the inside of eaxh others room. While I'm sure there are worse places to stay though I am glad I haven"t encountered them. I recommend sticking to the places you know you cn count on like Marriott, Hyatt,Hilton Etc The only positive I can offer is the staff is friendly.

Wonderful Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/11
The location of the Aston was perfect! Everything was in walking distance and spectacular views of Waikiki. The rooms were a little small but normal. I did not like the location or size of the pool. It is right next to the restaurant and it closes really early. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Overall my husband and I had a great stay.

Wonderful Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/19/10
The hotel is in a great location (right across from Waikiki Beach). The room service was wonderful and hotel staff very friendly. The room was beautiful and decorated accordingly...we actually felt like we were in Hawaii while in our room. In the lobby area there were three different booking agencies that would book you for whatever journey you decided to take for the day (even car rentals). The hotel was within walking distance of the beach, Diamond Head, and plenty of shops and places to eat. My husband and I were visiting for our 1year anniversary and originally had booked our stay at the Park Shore Resort (DON'T GO THERE). Park Shore was VERY disappointing, the staff was unfriendly, and rooms were outdated/gross. So, upon arrival we refused our room and Aston was able to put us in a king size ocean view room (with breakfast) for around the same price! The only things negative we could say about this hotel is a Wifi connection would be a great addition (internet is 10.00 per day if you decide to use it), and if you rent a car overnight you will have to pay around $30.00 for parking. Other than that, our stay was great!

Disappointing start to vacation
By FGFGDFGDFGDG, 6/7/09
Well, we started off by booking this hotel about 3 months in advance. We choose it because of the rates, details about service, and free breakfast. When we first got there; we found out that even though their website says "free breakfast"; it is only included if you get an ocean front room or a larger upgraded suite. That was a little upsetting. Next, my fiance and I went to our room we booked with a king size bed only to find that they gave us 2 twin beds instead. We went back to the desk only to find out that our original room was reserved but "not guarenteed". They said they could move us to an ocean front room (without the breakfast) but we'd have to keep the twin beds; otherwise we'd have to pay an extra 60 per night for upgrading. We were about to walk out and a manager was able to give us a room with a king size bed. Other than the first set of problems; the rooms were always kept clean and the attendants were always very nice. We didn't have any problems except for the first day. This hotel is a very good value but not if you can be pushed around easily without a fight.

Not for Breakfast!!
By Ken B, 5/27/09
Please do not choose this hotel for its free breakfast. You will be greatly disappointed and will buy out anyway. Nothing cooked on premises and how does getting scambled eggs in a plastic container sound to you? Exactly how they come! The standard room is too small and so is the balcony. The ice machines are loud all night. There is very little view of Diamond Head or anything else except taller hotels and office buildings. The Tiki lounge is great but the drinks pricey and watered down. Check out the Hilton Hawiian Village for much better accomodations at similar price and get a good breakfast nearby. Hawaii was great last week but this place was not. Also $22 per day to park at the hotel and it must be valet parked only. I don't know about you but I am not tipping some guy every time he parks or retrieves my rental car that I am already paying to much for anyhow just because it is hotel policy. Aloha and Mahalo!!

2nd stay here we love this hotel
By mike jacobson, 2/28/09
My wife and I have stayed on both the east and west side of the hotel. The views from either side are spectacular. The beds are very comfortable, and trust me my wife has a hard time finding a bed that she finds comfortable. We enjoyed the BOB, although not the greatest food it was just average, but the coffee was delicious (toasted coconut). We also enjoyed the hawaiian music and hula dancer. It creates a gathering area for the guests of the hotel where we met people from all over the world. The music creates a beautiful hawaiian vibe to start your day. Since we had stayed here before we were given a free view upgrade, from partial ocean view to ocean view. We had requested the east side with Diamond Head view, which was the view we had the first time. We decided we wanted a change this time and requested a west view room, with a view of Waikiki. Gena at the front desk was very helpful and accomadated our request and moved us to a west view room. Thanks again Gena!! The rooms and hotel were always very clean. We look forward to staying at this hotel everytime we visit the Island, which we know will be many more times. We can't wait to go back!! We would recomend this hotel to anyone visiting Oahu!!

Great Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/08
It is a great location, but stay away if your not a clean person! The elevator was janky, the bathroom had mold, and the just the overall smell of the room was weird!!!! Our view was terrible. The decor was cheesy. If you want location for a cheap price, I suggest to book your room with the ocean view. I peeked at the rooms during house cleaning and its better and cleaner looking.

We have stayed here many times. The rooms are the best for the price. The people are GREAT. It is right across the street from Kuhio beach, which is the best beach in Waikiki. We are going back in sept.09. CAN"T WAIT.........
