AWSOME HONEYMOONE
By Christian, 9/14/06
This hotel was totally awesome, my new wife and I had an ocean front room, where we heard the waves crash from our room, and watch the sun set from our balcony. If you get an ocean front room on the East side of the hotel you get to experience Diamond Head as well as the water, however our room was on the West so we had to settle for just the beach. The room was kind of small for the money, but your in Hawaii, what are you doing in your hotel room anyway, unless you are newlyweds :). You do have to cross the street to get to the beach but no biggie; the streets of Waikiki are pedestrian friendly. Almost every tour company picked us up right in front of the hotel, so there was no need of a rental car. The hotels idea of coolers to take your breakfast on the beach was one of the best things, just think snacks on the tours. There was no internet access yet, they were working on it, but again why are you in a room while in paradise. The Hotel Restaurant had delicious food, and I wish we would have discovered it before trying other places. I did have one grip, they had a Cold Stone Ice Cream shop below my room, and the smell of the shop drives me crazy, I ate way too much Ice Cream. All said if I ever get to experience Oahu again I will absolutely stay a Resort Quest Waikiki Beach Hotel again.

I wanna go back
By chris c, 7/27/06
This was my first trip to Hawaii. My only complaint was upon check in, we were supposed to have adjoining rooms, and we did not. Then they had us several floors apart. We made them move us to the same floor. Besides this little "snafu" it was terrific. The beach is just across the street. The view from our "partial ocean view" was great. The beds were very comfortable. Any requests we had were made very quickly and politely. The pool, Tiki lounge and bar were also a great view from our room. The rooms were a little cramped. It didnt bother us as we werent in the rooms for any great length of time. If you wanted to ride the trolley system, there is a pick up right outside the hotel. When I return, I will definately be staying here.

Would go back only for the location and service
By Kahau, 5/30/06
The room wasn't that spectacular, there was stains on the ceiling of our room and the walls were slightly dingy. The bed also was not very comfortable. The breakfast on the beach food was terrible. Also the valet service was not very good.We had to wait at least 20 to 25 minutes for our car each time we left the hotel on top of paying $15.00 a day.!The only thing I enjoyed about this hotel was the location which was excellent as it was right across the beach and the service.

Unique hotel
By elizabeth, 4/27/06
Really liked Tiki's and the breakfast. Both were unique. Did not like the 17th floor though...very noisy from the wind. The doors had gaps in them causing wind to howl through.

terrible waste of money
By Alli, 2/7/06
The service here is terrible. The valet's dented my car and the management said they had no responsibility. Any company with this poor customer service should not exist.

Only good for business Travel
By Dirci, 12/19/05
I did like the location. Just a minute walk to the beach. The rooms are small and not very pretty. Pool closes at night and the hallways smelled awful. No coffee in room and no microwave. Elevators slow or not working. Pool not heated. no self serve laundry.

Awesome hotel!
By Kent, 12/19/05
First time in HI and will not be the last. Aston (ResortQuest) Waikiki Beach Hotel was perfect, the location is right at the end of the "strip" so you can walk down to the nightlife or enjoy some quiet. Staff was helpful and friendly the room was kept clean and tidy every day. In the mornings you get to fill up your tote with free breakfast items and take it wherever you want. They will give you towels and chairs to borrow for the beach for free and if you want floats well you can get them real cheap at the ABC store. The coolest thing about this hotel was it's Tiki Bar & Grille this place is one of the best to eat at in Honolulu. Beautiful view of the ocean, great atmosphere and awesome food, try the nachos! (also check out the coupon book they hand out at the hotel for a free piece of cheesecake there) This hotel has got it all and I will be back. Splurg for the ocean front room it's worth it. Location, nice rooms, great atmosphere and good price... EXCELLENT. Also, just a tip from the locals if you wanna enjoy a true and good luau go to the polynesian cultural center, its on the North shore of Oahu about an hour drive from the hotel but a great place to enjoy different cultures, fun and food.

Fantastic!!!
By Cris, 9/27/05
I LOVEed staying at this hotel!!! It was in an great place, within walking distance of the Honolulu Zoo, Diamond Head (we walked and it is a bit of a distance but we both like to walk), the beach was right across the street and the water was great! It seemed to be very kid friendly, there were many families there, all with beaming faces so I know they were having a good time. There is a pool on the deck where breakfast is served, all outside. One of my favorite things about the Astin was that they had an unbelievable breakfast set up and the room came with a little portable cooler. The hotel encouraged patrons to fill the cooler up for their lunch excursions and it saved us breakfast and lunch purchases so we could splurge on dinner. There is a Wolfgang Puck's restaurant on the ground floor and many restaurants within walking distance. I would absolutely stay there again!

Should only stay if u dont care how your treated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/05
The location of the hotel was GREAT other then that it was an average hotel. We stayed at the Aston Beach hotel for our 4 days/3 nights honeymoon and we were treated like teenage guest. We were supposed to be staying in a side view of the beach room and there was supposed to be strawberries and champagne waiting for us the day we arrived and there was NO strawberries, no champage and no side view of the beach room. Instead they did not admit their mistake put us into a TWIN bed room with two beds and a standard room! We booked this hotel 2 months in advance to make sure everything was perfect and when we told the front desk that we were in the wrong room and that it was our honeymoon and not to forget that someone else luggage was already in the room they told us "sorry but we're full for the night and there is nothing we can do about it!" My husband and I had to sleep in seperate beds on our first night and we were also denied breakfast in the morning becuause we were staying in a standard room! As a guest we were not asking for a fantasy room just a room that was clean, with one bed, a view, breakfast and good customer service. We were not planning to be in the room most of the time but the time we were in it we wanted to enjoy it. If you want good customer service I advise you DO NOT stay here! If you have to be by the beach like we wanted to be then I suggest you stay at one of the many other hotels on the strip!
