Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel Convention Center, Atlanta

Staff was friendly enough. Room was large, nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. Main problem was it was so loud. Every door closing sounded like a door in our room was slamming. Sounds echoed through the atrium. I could hear the conversation in the neighboring room while in bed. We have had the Sunday Brunch before and it was excellent. We would rather stay somewhere else and come by for the brunch next time.

I called and booked my husband and I a room to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. I called to reserve the room and was told that we would have a room on the top floor and that breakfast at the Atrium Cafe was included in the price. When we arrived to check in, the woman at the front desk hardley said two words to us. She did ask to see my license and then proceeded to throw it on the counter at me when she was finished with it. We were then given a room on the 9th floor...the hotel had 14 floors. We were dissappointed that we did not get a room on the top floor as promised but we didn't want to cause a stink since we were there to celebrate. Once we got to our room, an hour or so later we called the front desk to ask a question about room service...the phone rang and rang and no one ever picked up. But the icicng on the cake was the following morning. We were ready for breakfast but were told that breakfast was part of the Club level package (top floor) and they were not open on the weekends (it was Sunday morning). Not once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience. They basically said...the woman who took the reservation over the phone made a mistake. The hotel itself was beautiful, the room was very nice and clean however based on the service my husband and I recieved we will not be returning to or recommending this hotel.

The Renaissance Waverly is breathtakingly beautiful.  The rooms are spacious, including the bathrooms.  The dining options offer excellent choices.  The staff act as if they thoroughly enjoy waiting on you. There are multiple meeting rooms and ballrooms, so that several large groups can convene at the same time.It's just a short walk to Cumberland Mall, which makes it even more convenient for shopping and dining.

Returned to the Waverly for the first time since it opened. Beds are very comfortable. The toliet stopped up but they fixed it right away. The food was lavish. Service was mostly black people which I found a little patronizing. Not much nightlife in the area but a great health club.

The hotel building itself is attractive with all the rooms on all floors opening on to the large atrium; however, the atrium acts like a sound amplifier for all the noise generated on the main floor. Recently my husband and I stayed over a weekend, and we were awake late due to the noise from rowdy patrons in the lobby bar, and then we were awakened very early the next day by the staff setting up for the Sunday brunch. For HOURS we heard chairs scraping across the tile floors, plates being stacked one by one, and more, all amplified through the atrium--10 floors below. The hotel also seems to have an affinity for very odd smell combinations. The lobby entrance always has a strange and unpleasant assortment of scented items. I don't understand it, but it needs to go.

I stayed last December for the weekend as it was close to downtown( the Westin ) where the Annual Christmas ball was held. I loved it. I have no complaints at all. It really set the bar high for me. Now when I travel I compare and make the determination where I stay for how close it rates to the amenities and service provided at the Waverly. I would defintely return.

This was my husband and I second year annivesary. I made plans to go and have a nice time. But, the service was not good at all. We went out to eat and had brought food back with us. We wanted to warm it up to eat later that night but, the front desk said "that they could not help us with that." Then when we went down to the breakfast because, I got the breakfast combo. The server did not even come back to check on us. We complained to the front desk because this was suppose to be a really nice romatic time. They gave us some money off our room and sent up some wine and cheese. But, over all it was nice. The room was great! It was really clean and the bed was really comfortable. But,for the price we paid I thought their would be more.

My husband and I have stayed here on 4 occasions. The staff are generally courteous, though when they have conventions you do not receive the attention you want. One one occasion the staff really came through: when i asked staff to help make my husband's birthday special they responded by making a birthday presentation of chocolate piano with bonbons on a mirrowed plate and a bottle of champagne. It was lovely! The Sunday brunch made it hard not to overeat with everything from crab legs to omelets with a soothing jazz combo playing in the atrium setting. It made for a truly enjoyable weekend.

This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in.The staff were superior, courteous, attentive & fulfilled our every request with a smile, and we had alot of them.Extra pillows,blankets,towels etc. Our room was comfortable & clean, with a nice view from the 12th floor. The health club facilities,were also outstanding.I wish every four star hotel met the Renaissance Waverly Hotels standards. We can't wait to go back.

I have never actually stayed overnight at the Waverly Hotel since it's a ten minute drive from my house but I have attended several conferences there. Each time I've been at the Waverly, the service was great, the staff were very well kempt, the decor is very lavish and fancy and the climate is comfortable. Also notable is the attention to detail as it wasn't just the noticable elements that recieved attention like the furnishings which were clean but also the small details like making sure there was always a full bowl of hard candies outside the bathroom entrances as well as other various small amenities. Other parts of the hotel that I was pleased with were the shops in the atrium which had friendly service and the shoe-shine boy outside the magazine stand who did a very good job on my leather dress shoes for only $7.00. The only real complaints I would have is that apparently, the premium status that the Waverly holds still doesn't keep all of the bums out. Last time I was at the hotel which was for a very high profile industry conference, I saw some bum in the bathroom dressed in dirty clothing with a bottle of beer who decided that the marble floor was a good place to spit out beer despite the fact there were plently of sinks only feet away. Although I do not hold this against the hotel or it's staff, I do have to say that no matter where you go nowadays and no matter how nice the majority of the people are and how nice the surroundings are, there's still going to be at least one bum. Bottom line: great service, great decor, great surroundings, if I had more money and the hotel was more than a ten minute drive from my house, I would definitley stay there.
