Experiencing CNN
Okay, I didn't actually stay at the Omni (although it looks like a 1st class place), but I did spend the day at the CNN Center, adjacent to the Omni. The CNN tour is very interesting, especially for a news junkie like me. You get to go into the main studio that you see on TV, on an overlook above it, and see all the technology that goes into putting this massive operation on air all around the world. Daryn Kagan was hosting when I was there, so you also get to see somebody you're probably familiar with. There are also mock studios where you can try your hand at reading a teleprompter, and giving the weather forecast. There's also a lot of items that reporters have brought back from different places around the world on display, and of course, a lot of reels that run big, historic, stories of the past 27 years. The tour is one hour long, and costs $12 for adults. Very good experience, and highly recommended, although it may be too big and technical for smaller children to be interested.
