Location, location, location

If you're going to a sporting event at the Phillips arena or Georgia Dome, the location can't be beat. It's a great feeling to know you don't have to leave early from a sporting event to beat the traffic.
A little advice:
Check in as soon as possible! I don't care if the game is at night, check in early (before 3 pm) if they let you. Traffic around the hotel is horrendous right before a big game. We made the mistake of trying to check in around 5 pm for an 8 pm Falcons game, and it was a madhouse. For example, I only counted one, that's right ONE entrance/exit to each of the two towers' parking garages. The valets were very nice, but you could tell they were understaffed.
Once you do check in though, there's no reason to go to your car again while you're there, especially if going to a sporting event. The Phillips is in the same building, so to speak, and the Georgia Dome is about a block away, albeit a long block. The CNN Food Court is adjacent, which includes Arbys and a few other fast food stands, a Chinese restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, and Jocks-n-Jills, a sports bar, which is a very good place to go after the game. For one thing, it's the only thing open after 11 pm where you can get a bite to eat, as all the other fast food places are closed. Overall, the food is decent, the service excellent and prices are reasonable at Jocks-n-Jills. Expect a 30-45 minute wait for a table after a game.
A few of the fast food restaurants in the food court serve a breakfast special (typical southern fare, eggs, grits or hashbrowns, bacon, toast) for about $4, so you don't have to spend $12 at the hotel's restaurant for basically the same thing.
The rooms were comfortable, not what I'd expect for $160+ per night, but like I said, the location was what sold me on the Omni.
If you ever go to a sporting event at the Dome or at the Phillips, I recommend you don't stay anywhere else but the Omni. You pay a little extra, but once you see the madhouse in downtown Atlanta before and after a big game, you'll be glad you did.
