DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Atlanta - Galleria, Atlanta

In Atlanta on business this week. There is an event at the hotel tonight in which they are playing the worst sounding music I have ever heard. More importantly they are playing it very loud. I'm on the 5th floor and it sounds like i'm in the room with them and they are playing until 11 PM. I spoke to the lady at the front desk. "They paid just like you did". When I pick a hotel , I look for a place that is quite so I can get a good nights sleep. This is absolutely terrible. It is very disappointing that you would allow someone to book a conference room in the hotel and let them blast music all night. Bad management, bad policy, bad customer service. wow if you could only hear what i am...

Wonderful room ruined by poor insulation and incredibly rude front desk staff. who would not listen, has poor communication skills and refused to accept our booked gift certificate or even give a discount for their mistake.

If you try to use your GPS, you may have trouble getting to the hotel, but the front desk was very helpful with directions when we called. We appreciated the free parking and the warm chocolate chip cookies when we arrived. The hotel is only 10-15 mins from downtown. While we enjoyed everything about our stay here, we did have trouble on the last night. There was a party that went on until 3am, and we got very little sleep on our last night before making the 6-hour drive home. When we called to complain, we were given a free night on our next visit. They were very apologetic about the loud party (to their credit, it was Christmas, but guests should be given notice since some of the suites open toward the middle of the hotel - where the party was being held - rather than toward the outside of the hotel). I would stay here again - as long as there is no loud celebration!

The staff was friendly upon arrival, but very busy. I had requested a King Smoking and got a double non-smoking. When I was able to change rooms, it was a single queen handicap accessible room. NO CLOSET...wtg. My in room coffee maker was broken, when i called down about it, 3 hours later they told me they could not swap it out. The next evening I called about it again, and Patrick got me one lickety split. PATRICK WAS THE BEST. The lounge is on the first floor, but the atrium causes noise to carry horrilbly. I was unable to sleep before midnight a couple of times, because of the patrons in the bar being so loud. I was very disappointed in the fact that the staff let this go on. I was there M-F for business, and left exhausted because of the lack of sleep. I recommend this hotel if you want to party while away. If you have to work and require rest, this is not the place to go. Oh one other thing that really bugged me, they charge $10 a day for in room wirless. I thought this was ridiculous. I would have been ok with $10 for the week, but really...

I loved the service provided by the hotel staff as I enter through the doors.. Smiling faces, very professional customer service and overall ATTITUDES! The overall cleanliness of the room was spectacular and the whirlpool gave me a little bit of heaven. Trendy style decor is a PLUS as well. It is worth the price and I would highly recommend this Doubletree for your visit to the Atlanta area

The negative: The furniture had stains, carpet had one stain that appeared to be blood, the base trim in the bathroom was falling apart, room service never cleaned the tub during our stay, the balcony looking over the inside atrium was not appealing in any way. The pool was small and over crowded. There appeared to be a security guard on duty at all times, but there were people running around until 11pm at night, and beer bottles all over in the parking lot. The fridge area had water damage from some point and appeared to have mold; never was repaired. The room was really not that clean when we arrived. They said they had carts, but there were none available nor would they attempt to track one down for us. For the money we paid for a suite, we could go about a mile down the road for a nicer less expensive room. Positive notes: Bed was comfortable, two flat screen tvs, air conditioning works great, they use neurtrogena shampoo products, large towles, fridge in room, coffee maker in room.

We stayed for a couple of evenings. The bathroom had visible mildew/black mold. There were broken tiles near the faucet. The wallpaper was peeling and the carpet looked worn and dirty. THe coffee maker was broken as well. This was the second room we were given. The ice maker on our floor was broken and kept beeping all night. I have an allergy to feathers and when I called down to the desk I was told housekeeping was not there and they had no non-feather pillows. The blanket was down as well -- when I asked for a different blanket, I was given a blanket that was in such disgusting shape that I was unable to use it. It was a miserable experience...

...this Doubletree did not live up to other DTs I've stayed at...there was no one to take my luggage(i did it myself)...the refrigerator did not work...the tv remote control did not work...the bathroom curtain smelled mildewy...do not recommend.
