Had a GREAT experience.
We stopped in Savanah while coming home from FL with a large pickup and a trailer. When we called for reservations the lady said parking's no problem. When we arrived there was NO place to park. As we began driving away my wife called to cancel and the manager asked us to come back and she'd be outside. I made a wrong turn and missed a street somewhere. It took 20 minutes to get back and when we pulled in, there she was! STILL waiting for us, directing us into the lane by the parking garage, and reassured us that she'd have security check it throughout the night. BTW, this was 8am, 7 or 8 hours before our actual check in. She was very gracious to let us park there and use facilities to clean up before spending a GREAT day touring the historic distric, which this hotel is dead in the middle of. Our very large, clean and comfortable room ($165) was on floor 16 and looked out to the river. It was awesome. Housekeeping only left one towel in the room and when we called down, housekeeping was there with towels, apologizing, in about less than a minute. Any hotel in the country can be perfect or horrible, based on 1 single person behind the desk and how well the AC unit happens to work. Maybe we just got lucky, but our service (and AC) was GREAT. Room, and the hotel overall, were BEAUTIFUL and clean. And within 1 block is River St., the old market district, and right across the street is 5 guys burgers, which is GREAT at 1am, after "too much fun" on River Street!!!! I can not WAIT to go back to Savannah, and we'll be for sure making reservations for the Inn at Ellis Square. Good luck with your stay!! Oh, and btw, if you're staying only for a day or 2, you won't want to bother with hotel breakfast, when there's a handful of outdoor garden markets in the old market district that are THE perfect, little quintessential pictresque places to have breakfast. So of course the breakfast is just ok, but WHO cares!?!
