Townsend Inn, Townsend

My family was on a return trip from Florida to Ohio when our car's timing belt went. We were finally towed to this location. BEfore being let down off of the tow truck, the driver went inside to speak with the guy at the counter. After about 5 mins he comes back out, lets us down, and we go inside to discover that he decided it was alright to overcharge us for the room. My wife and I, along with our 2 children were the ones to stay in the room. We were charged $76.00 per night! Not only that, we were told it was only .25 per min for long distance, but they decided to charge us a connect fee as well upon check out of .50 per call which we were never told about. The room was not cleaned very well at all. Dusty, dirty floors, even a nightgown on the inside of the bathroom door! NEedless to say, the next day I went across the street to the only other hotel there, a Knights Inn, paid $30 less a night, and got a much cleaner room. It was worth me pushing our car across a 2 lane highway just to get away from those people who think it is alright to overcharge a family in need.
