Don't stay at the Inn
By Carol P, 11/21/08
The innn is old and smelly and if you have allergies of any kind, you will be miserable. If you have little ones, I would not want them on that old carpeting. If you do make reservations request, no demand, one of the few renovated rooms. The gardens are beautiful maybe one of the other accomodations would be better.

Great Family Vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/08
We initially stayed at the Inn and it was old, smelly and the a/c was loud and I would not recommend it but we went over to the Lodge at Callaway and it was heaven. Brand new, beautiful, large rooms, everything you could ask for. Callaway overall was a great family vacation. The kids had activities to do everyday. The lodge ended up costing us $60 more $ a night but it was well worth it.

Horrible Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/08
Callaway Gardens has by far the worst customer service that I have ever experienced w/ any business. We are having our wedding there and after paying, we were hit with many hidden fees and surprising details. Almost everyone we have dealt with was extremely rude! Never would have picked this place if we knew what we were getting into.

Still wonderful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/07
Had not stayed overnight at Callaway in a good many years. We stayed at the Mountain Creek Inn, but other accomodations are the lodge, cottages and villas. Though the furnishings were a bit "tired" our room was clean and comfortable and everything worked. No fridge, but did not expect one. Rate includes a full breakfast at the inn or the country store (buffet at the inn) and admission to the gardens each day. The beauty of the gardens is still magnificent. Other attractions in the gardens are the horticultural center, the Day Butterfly Center and, new to me, the Discovery Center. We took in a Birds of Prey show there. We loved our visit and will return sometime.

Mountain Creek Inn A Dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/07
King non-smoking room group rate of $129.00 plus taxes. The rooms/bathrooms are old and small. No sheers on the windows, no computer/electrical outlet on/or in the desk area,no reading lamp, one luggage rack for a king room, room was very musty, cockroach fell off the ceiling, bathroom fan sounded like a 747, hallways were dreary and in need of paint as were many of the doors to the rooms, the bed was old, low and very "used",and had 3 small lumpy pillows BUT, the front desk and recepiton area and bathrooms were new and well appointed, the Days Inn in Pine Mountain 1 mile away was new and $59.00 a night for a king non-smoking that was larger, up-to-date and much cleaner.

Minimal ADA compliance
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/08/07
My reservations were for a ground floor, wheelchair accesible room with a refrigerator. What I had was quite the opposite. No grab bars in the bathroom, no place to plug my wheelchair in, refrigerator did not work. Furniture had to be moved to even get in the room. The in room coffee maker had to be used in the bathroom as that was the ONLY accessible electric outlet. The room had an adjoining room door that would not close securely. I had wanted to go to Callaway Gardens for years and was totally disappointed with the room, the on site restaurants, etc. Letters and emails to Callaway about the problems did not yield a response.

The Inn is overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/06
Callaway Gardens is FANTASTIC but our room at the Mountain Creek Inn was NOT. The room was in real need of updating. I don't know where they get the room photos on the web site from! Thankfully, the view from our room was amazing. Still the room was over-priced by double in our opinion.

the place needs to be bulldozed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/06
First, the sinage for locating the place is terrible. We waited in a line for approx. 25 minutes to check in, we got to the nasty, out-dated, dumpy room which appeared to be unchanged in decor from the 50's, only to find the air conditioning not cooling, we moved to another room with no assistance, the restaurant closed at 9 p.m. EDT, we had to go off site to eat which was an inconvenience, there were some family reunions there with many noisy guests, the place is not soundproof, the golf course directions were not good, other than all of that everything was fine. i won't ever go back. Too many other nice places to go. With all the money they've made over the years, I don't understand the unwillingness to reinvest some, alot.
