Shore Haven Resort Inn, Lauderdale by the Sea

The Hotel was recommended to me by my brother who stayed there in the '90s. We stayed in the Shore Haven one week end of May at the beginning of our vacation and came back for two nights at the end. The first week was pre-booked, the second time we came back because we liked it so much. The worst thing first: As nearly everywhere in the states, the AC was too loud for European taste (at night). But we where really glad we had it at all, because when we stayed there we had temperatures in the mid-nineties... Our first week we stayed in a One-Bedroom Apartement. It was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The kitchen had all appliances needed, a large fridge (very important!) and lots of storage spaces. The living room was cozy, a couch and an armchair, a small table, a dining table, a writing desk, TV. Bathroom was fine. Bedroom: 2 Queen, TV, Bedside table. Large wardrobe. Door between Bed-/Bathroom and Kitchen/Livingroom. Furniture was not new, neither in style nor in age, but it makes a familiar and cozy atmosphere. Free WiFi is a definite plus! The public area with pool and Barbeque was very well kept and always clean. Very green. The owners, especially Arthur, have been very nice and helpful and they keep the hotel in a very good condition. Very close to the beach as well as to several small stores and restaurants (one block). Publix close by. Due to the Ocean Drive it can be a little louder. All in all, for us it is the perfect place, very familiar, clean and friendly. We will definitely come back.

This place is totally outdated. We checked in and the first room we went to was horrible. It had 2 double beds and a small kitchen. It was so crowded you could barely walk around the beds. It was smelly, had dingy laminate flooring and we said we were not staying there. They showed us a bigger room upstairs that smelled better. The bathroom in this room had moldy shower doors that did not close well. The lamp on the table turned off by unscrewing the bulb! Pictures on web site are deceiving. Would not recommend this place at all.

I stayed at shore haven resort inn for one night on the way down to miami for the cruise and decided that I enjoyed it so much at I stayed there for 3 days on the way back from the cruise. It's close to the loooong fishing pier, and easy access to ocean. tons of access points to the ocean, Hollywood in just up the road. You wont be disappointed.

we loved the owner adam. he was very helpful to meet our needs. he keeps his property and rooms very clean. the rates were very affordable. would definetly recommened staying here

We initially booked a one bedroom apt which once there, we found too small for our needs. We were 3 adults, one teen and one toddler. The owners were kind enough to let us see the other types of rooms available and in the end we chose 2 rooms, one with a kitchenette and one without...it worked out great. The rooms are extremely well kept and clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The grounds/gardens are magnificent, the pools are clean, can't really comment on the hot tub...it was too hot to even think of trying it..lol. The owners are soo helpful, the location is a 3 min walk to the beach, there are all amenities and restaurants all within walking distance. Our bathtub wasnt draining well and the problem was fixed within an hour. The housekeeping staff as well as the owners were always smiling/curtious and very helpful. Now that we've discovered this gem, we hope to make this an annual vacation!!!

What a jewel! We were travelling without a set plan and stopped at the Shore Haven for a quick one-night stop before going on to Key West. Well, it was so clean and comfortable in every way, that we stayed another 3 nights on our way back! If we ever get back to Florida, we would definitely stay there again!

My husband and I returned yesterday from an 8 night stay at the Shore Haven Resort. We have visited Lauderdale by the Sea five times -- every time staying at a different hotel. We have now found the place where we will be staying every year (if available). The Shore Haven is very close to town and to beach access. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. We found the room to be clean. The resort is quiet and has a number of places to sit outside -- some shady and some sunny (whatever your preference). There are tables and a gas grill by the pool. We felt very comfortable there and can't wait to go back.

Our experience with this place was wonderful! We wanted a room with a kitchenette and were very pleased with the room we received. Our room was very clean and tidy!!!! Beach, grocery store, playground, and restaurants were close and within walking distance. Beautiful landscaping too! Is this a 5 star resort with people waiting on you hand and foot? No, but then you're not paying 5 star prices!!! (We know because we've done that too). Also, many people staying there were repeat customers (at least that's what they told us).If you're an independant do-it-yourself person, this place is the one for you! All in all, a great experience and we would love to go back!

I will never go back to this hotel. We were supposed to stay there for three nights but just after one night, we had enough. First, the bathroom was SO dirty and then, when we went to bed, we could ear our room neighbours talking !!!!

Nice place close to beach. Nice owners. We have been there twice, and we will return. We have been there 2003 and 2005. Its close to Orlando and Key West. And many more nice places.
