Great place
By Discerning, 01/04/10
Super resort and most beautiful sand and surf anywhere. Huge variety of lodging options and great restaurants and golf courses abound. This location is hard to beat for golf, beaches and seafood. We go as often as possible. Went for the wine festival this time and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Old and way over priced
By PaulW, 08/14/09
Rooms are very noisy. No sound proofing. Mold was growing in the shower. Housekeeping arrives late in the day and does little to clean. Place nickels and dimes you every chance. Pool was very crowded. If you don't reserve a chair the day before there is no where to lay out. Beach area while nice is very small since the condos on each side keep you out of "their" beach area.

Great trip and stay!
By Donna B, 05/11/09
Husband, myself and two teens ages 15 &16 stayed over the springbreak weekend. We liked the room (#906). The balcony view was partial beach-partial parking area. We didn't mind long as we had the partial beach view. Check-in was fine and relatively quick. I had almost changed reservation after all the negative post on here but we didn't have any major complaints. It was cool the entire weekend so we didn't enjoy the pool. We only saw one outdoor hot-tub and it was usually full and had lot's of kids. Watched at least 5 weddings over the weekend on the beach. Security would try to keep kids from playing or people walking in the backdrop as the weddings were being held and I completely understood this. A couple of the receptions were held on the different pool decks which meant they did close those areas. Those receptions would of been better IMHO due to the cool temps. We grealy enjoyed the shuttle to Baytowne Wharf. The two girls could adventure out and shop and site see without us to atg along. Gave them some independence and I felt they were safe. We could ride later to the clubs on the shuttle and enjoy drinks without having to worry about parking or a DUI. Idid not like the resorts 10.00 per night parking fee and my husband parked so as not to have to pay even more for the valet service. One night the girls enjoyed the nice large-heated in-door pool. On one night we heard a lot of banging overhead. Concerned that somone was fighting and thrashing the furniture about we called the front desk. Shortly thereafter it stopped and a security guard knocked at out door. He stated that it was maids storing away some items and apologized for the noise. We didn't hear any further noise. Check out was a itemized slip quitely placed under our door. No problem. We would go back again. Oh, yes, lovely grounds. Just next trip we will go in the warmer months.

Worest Hotel Exp I Have Ever Had !
By Trey, 04/19/09
The front desk and back end office where rude and not helpful at all. Rent a by owner rental like a condo or home and you can save money and not have to deal with rude people or long lines. or high prices on food.

We can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/08
We received a special reduced rate through the internet, but we were still treated like royalty. They even let us stay an additional night for the reduced rate! All our requests were met and more. We didn't have to move our car because the tram took us everywhere we wanted to go. Beach chairs and parking were a little pricey, but hey, it's a very nice resort. It was a great vacation, and we look forward to going back. I highly recommend it!

Hilton gauges Gustav evacuees
By sue, 09/03/08
We stayed at Hilton Sandestin Beach Resort during the Gustav evacuation of New Orleans. When Gustav forced us to alter our original evacuation reservations - we had to arrive a day earlier and remain a day longer - we were told that we had to pay full price for our rooms. No empathy was shown - just an interest in taking advantage of the misfortunes of others. We came here with six other families. Not one of us will ever stay in a Hilton Resort again because of our experience with the management at Sandestin.

REVIEWS BELOW ARE OUTDATED
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/08
I would like to say that the reviews beneath mine are outdated and all the negative comments are true no longer. I have recently visited the HILTON IN SANDESTIN and thought it was very nice and on a positive note the bill was correct and there was no wait. Please believe my review and don't focus on the past, but focus on what is true now: The SanDestin Hilton is GREAT!

AWESOME!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/07
I just got married there this past October. The staff was wonderful! The whole wedding experience with the Hilton was easy. It is expensive, but it was well worth the money. half of my guests stayed at the Hilton for the wedding as well and everybody had a great time! They loved their rooms and the view. Location was convenient. The shuttle to Baytown wharf was nice. We had our rehearsal dinner at Bistro Bijou, the food and service was excellent!!!! I definitely recommend this hotel.

3 rooms in one day-wow!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/07
It took three rooms to get us in. Disappointed with the way manager took 4 hours to finally get us into a clean room. Drink tickets didn't really help. Otherwise, stay was very nice.

Fabulous Stay
By Susan, 06/29/07
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We loved the pools, and tiki bar (a lot!) and the restuarants were great. We also recieved a really great deal for the room. Very reasonable. We never left Sandestin...didn't have too. The Village is fantastic due to the shops, dining (try Bistro Bijou and Marlin Grill) and music (bars...try RumRunners). The shuttle picks you up every 10-20 minutes...how conveniant and safe. The Hotel had a great view and was perfect to hide us away when needed! Don't know if I would bring families with kids here (Hilton) but sure was great for couples! The only downside I have to say is that you still have to pay for parking (not valet) and the internet.
