Over priced for the room you get
By Thomas, 2/19/12
The conitnental breakfast was good Eddy was a big help. But if you want to pay $175.00 + per night for a room you can do allot better in Key West showers are very small rooms are very loud you can hear everything around you. This hotel needs a serious update.

B&B Critic from CT
The room was perfect for what we needed, clean, basic with a nice sofa to relax on for a cat nap. Water pressure in shower was amazing... I think the breakfast buffet should be "advertised" a bit more b/c that was fantastic - wonderful spread of the basics outside on the tiki bar every morning from 9am until whenever... plenty of space to chit chat or be alone by the pool. Very CLEAN pool area and nice space to lay out - I found myself laying by the pool and relaxing during the day... GREAT LOCATION - within walking distance of everything. Tough parking but, we drove down from CT and, once we parked we did not move - so, not really an issue. What a friendly staff... really nice place and dog friendly - great (huge) map of key west on the wall to refer to! Thank you to "The Palms" for a nice, relaxing vacation in Key West. We will certainly stay with you all again!! - Scott and Alicia

Needs A GM that cares about the B&B or Customers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/10
Booked 1 night at $225 US then called back to add a 2nd night (a sunday) I was told sure the room was available no problem. We get there and the 2nd night was $360 US. NO ONE mentioned this, and it was apparently OUR FAULT. I was told that their staff was not the type to make that type of mistake and if we wanted an online confirmation we needed to request it. We also needed to request a proper detailed receipt if we needed one. The hotel it's self is shabby our room was a 2 floor disaster. A kitchenette on the first level that stunk and was not finished. the stairs to the ATTIC bedroom -bathroom were dangerous and in disrepair. The walls were falling apart at the seams and the only place to walk without hitting your head was down the middle of the room. The bathroom was barely useable, moldy and not ventilated. The Three “beds” in our room were 1 bed and 2 hard futons one of which folded up if you didn’t sleep on it backwards. I am speculating but because the beds were encased in zipper bags I wonder if they have had Bed Bugs in the recent past. THESE DO NOT GO AWAY EASILY AND SPREAD THROUGH THE WALLS. The outlets weren't all functional so I had to search to find one to plug the AC into. The street noise was loud and could be heard at all times. The Breakfast was little more than pastries, coffee, and juice. B&B??? I did get a free stamp but that doesn't make up for being overcharged by $100 12/26/09

Old, Dirty and Overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/23/07
If you enjoy paying $150-200 per night to hear everything that is going on in your neighbor's rooms on each side, (whether man, woman or animal), you enjoy bugs in your room, old dirty bedding, ceilings and walls that are caving in, creaky floorboards, icy cold showers that switch to scorching hot with no warning, and having street people bathe and wash their clothing in the swimming pool, then this is the place for you. We would have checked out the minute we checked in except there was no vacancy elsewhere in Key West by the time we got there. Don't stay here, you will regret it, and throw your money away. Also, there is no servicing of the rooms. Housekeeping does not change the bedding or use any cleaning products. They empty the garbage and drop off new towels. If you must stay here because it's too hot in your car, insist that you do not stay in the old portion of the hotel which they will try to tell you is quaint and historic, but is truly collapsing and filthy.

Hotel to avoid
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/4/07
If you like to waste $150-200 for a noisy and dirty room, a cold shower, people pissing in the pool and staff far from being friendly, this hotel is for you. Lately, do not leave anything valuable in your room, it might deseappear very quickly.

I'd consider going back...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/20/07
I liked our room. It was tiny, but for the price, we weren't dissapointed. We didn't spend much time at the place, but did manage to take a dip in the pool, and hang out a little while. The people were pretty friendly, and the location was close enough to the hot spots.(by bike, which they do rent for an additional charge, but we brought our own). We did enjoy a leisurely breakfast by the pool on our last morning. It's wasn't gourmet, but it definitey hit the spot!! I would consider going back.

Cheap but Okay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/06
Even when the breakfast was not very good, and on sunday there was suddenly no breakfast at all, the total was okay for that price. they give good advices for trips and bars, and the rooms are quite clean

What a dump
By Donna, 3/16/06
Rooms were not clean, bars were not clean and they stink. Nine dining was a joke with the rudest waiters we ever had. Unless you are a teenager I would not stay here. We did like the Rio.

We would stay in it anyday!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/16/05
This place is wonderful! The place is really nice, and all the people that stay there are really friendly. We have stayed there everytime we go to Key West, and now we live here. It is also not an arm and a leg. They have a beautiful setting around the pool and the tiki hut serves breakfast and turns into a bar later on that night. I recommend it to anyone that is coming to visit the Keys...
