Something Missing But Worth It
By The Legend, 10/19/09
For everything good, there was always something bad. They tout that the free breakfast is served in the "Tucan Tango" restaurant, when actually the Tucan is long out of business and they have the same old continental breakfast being served there only you sit on plastic lawn chairs. But, the views from the restaurant were awesome. The beach couldn't have been nicer. Great location. The pool was excellent, except that it closes at 8pm, no explanation why. The hotel sits on top of a two story mall, that is at about 10% occupancy. The food at the few restaurants that are in business is wonderful, specificaly the Southside Eatery and Ocean Skewers. The rooms were dated, but comfortbable. It was in a great spot, easy to get to South Beach, downtown Miami, and Fort Lauderdale. I'd stay there again, and you should to, just keep you expectations to you get what you pay for. I have hopes for their renovation they have going on because done properly this could be an amazing "resort"

i would never go back
By litlle momma, 09/04/09
my husband and i are on our honeymoon. the stay at the ramada was the worst place that we had ever stayed. the shower would get scalding hot and then go to cold in seconds. the breakfast was horrible. the drinks whwere watered down. the food was nasty. the phone in the room didnt work. the alarm clock was broken. ask for a wake up call did not get. i would not suggest anyone to stay at the ramada beach resort in fl. was not worht the money spent there. wish we wouldve went somewhere else.

VERY RUDE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/24/09
I was recently a guest at the Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort. I wanted to express my dissatisfaction with this resort. As my traveling companion checked in at the front desk, I went to the concierge to inquire about swimming with dolphins as it has been a something I have wanted to do for quite some time now. His exact response was "Oh, it way too expensive. You could not afford it." Besides making me feel like the degraded Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, the concierge also failed to get us a ride to show we had reservations for. The driver he set up was 30+ minutes late (we do not even know if he ever arrived). Luckily there was a taxi outside to take us to our dinner show. Our towels and sheets were only changed once that week after I called three times and had to make my own bed (twice because the first time the sheets did not fit). I am not a difficult person to please and was fortunate enough to be traveling with easygoing individuals and we were still able to enjoy our vacation no thanks to the staff at the Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort. For the price and expectations, this resort fell short.

Our Favorite Hotel in Fort Lauderdale
By ShaneN, 02/19/09
The Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort has been my wife and I's favorite hotel in Fort Lauderdale for a long time now. We love to stay there because it's right on the broadwalk and right on the sand! They have everything you need right there at the resort...restaurants, stores, bars, a pool, a jacuzzi, the broadwalk and the ocean. Since the renovations have begun, the place looks better already and the staff has a much better, more confident attitude. I would recommend the Hollywood Beach Resort to anyone visiting the Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood or Miami Beach areas.

Great Value for the money
By CoolGirlie7561, 12/21/08
This grand dame has started a historic restoration of the place. All of the hallways are complete with new doors, airconditioning, and new carpets. the place smells like a new hotel. My room was also renovated with new floor tile, a new all wood kitchen, and new pillowtop mattress bed. I have come to this hotel over the last 10 years and am very pleased with the progress of the historic restoration. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I am so glad that they decided to restore this Grand Dame rather than tear it down and building another concrete and steel building. What a great value compared to other hotels in the area. We saved over $ 100.00 per night.

Faded glory
By Donna Lu, 11/09/08
We first started going to this hotel about 20 years ago. It was great, the entire first floor and part of the 2nd was bustling with little shops and eateries. You could tell by touring the building that in it's heyday, it was really posh. Unfortunately, the little shops began to close (maybe the rental fees were too high) and each year fewer and fewer shops were open. Last time we went, it was like a ghost town. So sad that it hasn't been kept up. The studio apt we rent is adequate, the laundry room is right across the hall and very convenient. It's great to simply pass through the lobby and be literally on the beach. I hope that this great old resort can recapture some of it's old ambiance and character, it's sad to see it decay.

worst hotel I've ever been in.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/08
It is a shame that such a grand hotel from the past has disintegrated to the level that it has. The hotel appeared to not have been remodeled over at least the past 40 years. Exposed wiring was in our room. The walls were paper thin. There was no room service after evening hours.
