Wyndham Sea Gardens, Pompano Beach

When we checked in Wyndham had messed up our reservation but the front desk staff and the manager did what they could to help. However when we got to the room it was truly unbelievable. For a "beach front resort" there was no beach visible anywhere from the room. The room was filthy. Hair balls on the floor, a bathtub that was full of dirt and soap scum, kitchen chairs so stained and dirty you didn't dare sit on them. Oh and they forgot to empty the trash.

From the beginning the reservation process was very frustrating. I made the reservation on Thursday. I was not made aware of that I was not making the reservation at the hotel nor was I made aware of that the reservation takes 3 days to reach the hotel??? When I called the hotel that day to ask about the room they told me that they had no reservation for me and that it should be to them by Friday...the day I am checking in. I called Friday afternoon at 4pm and they still did not have the reservation. They gave me an 800 number for ME to call and ask them to email my reservation over to the hotel desk. Now you would think that if a person makes a reservation and they will be checking in the next day that someone would think "hey, maybe we should email this reservation over now instead of waiting our normal 3 days"....... By the time I went thru all of the stress of just making sure that I was actually going to have a room when I checked in, I never did get to make the room request accomodations that I was calling for in the first place. And that is a whole other ordeal. I wanted to make sure that I had an ocean view front room that was the 2 bedroom that I paid for that they show on the website. Well, I got an ocean view front room but nobody bothered to tell me that it was a block away from the beach. The website is so deceptive. It shows the hotel and it shows the beach...like you are actually staying right on the beach. I wanted to be able to hear the ocean waves and you couldn't hear them at all. On the most part all you could hear were the kids screaming in the pool. Then after we had checked in late Friday night, first thing Saturday morning we are both awakened by a leaf blower or some other loud abnoxious mechanical yard tool. Really, on a Saturday morning they find it necessary to wake up their guests to that? And the beautiful little pond that they show going thru the hotel was under construction. Quite an eye sore. Then, our dvd player did not work. I called Saturday night when we couldn't watch a movie and was told that someone would bring another one up to me within 30 minutes. We waited and no one ever came. On the way back from the beach the next day, I stopped in the front office and asked them about the dvd player and about staying 1 more day. Talk about poor customer service. I wanted to stay 1 more day only because they would not let me have a late check-out. Check-out is at 10am and if you go 1 hour past that they will charge you $100.00 per hour??? I figured if I pay for an extra day I could leave about 5 and still have time to make it home and be at work the next day. They gave me an 800 number and told me I'd have to call in the morning because they are not open on Sundays...kind of defeats the purpose now doesn't it. And why can't the people working in the front office help you in anyway with reservations. About the dvd player, I was told I should of asked them earlier because they only have 2 of them at the front desk and it is really hard for them to get away and I never received a dvd player. If they don't make reservations and they can't help you with anything if you have a problem, then just what are they getting paid to do????? This was the first vacation in 2 years that I actually had the time and was able to afford to go somewhere. I am really, really disappointed that I choose to stay at Wyndham Sea Gardens.

really great. convenient location. clean refurbished room over pool on the beach. loved the bakery by the activity room. fresh croissants, brownies daily. Staff at bakery so friendly and helpful. Very accomadating re meal. loved salad with jerk chicken...very reasonable. ate meal at bar with friends. Public transportation stops right on that block. great value.

the Wyndham Sea Gardens has 4 wonderful pools and all are in short walking distances from every room! the only negative thing i can think of about the resort is the staff, some of the staff are VERY unfriendly!

The location is terrific. We enjoyed the service and cleanliness. There is something to do for everyone. If you like a quiet place, there is the pool near the beach. If you like activity, there is a Tiki hut and scheduled activities. Can't wait to return.

Place is well decorated and large. Pools are huge and heated. Staff is very helpful with suggestions for restaurants. Beach access is excellent. It is right across the street. Plently of activities for my children.

I have visited The Sea Gardens Resort a few times and it has always been wonderful. The Wyndham property is beautiful with very large and clean units. The beach is across the street and there four pools to choose from. The staff is very helpful and on call all day and night. The check-in is not until 4:00 (this was inconvenient) but the resort is accessable. There are no restaurants on the property and very few close enough to walk to. Also, there is very limited night life. The one bar closes at 10:00. Plan on lots of R & R and some home cooking.

have been 5 times over the past several years i absolutely love it . the people are great and since they went Wyndam they have really stepped it up with the quality of service.

We stayed at the Sea Gardens one week in Jan. with a RCI exchange. We reserved way back in April 2006 with RCI and were assigned to a hotel room "that is just like a condo with a kitchen and a beach view." While we realize Wilma might have interfered with our assignment, we felt we were misled. Upon entering our dingy room, we couldn't believe our eyes! It was very dark, small, smelled terrible, the only window we had a large crack all the way across it, the "kitchen" was barely usable (ice compartment so tiny only 1 mini-ice cube tray would fit in), tiny ants on kitchen counter, poor lighting (nowhere to read unless you were lying in bed), tiny "table" barely big enough for 2 to sit at. We immediately asked for another room but were told nothing was available. We contacted RCI and were told a supervisor would be calling us within 2 hrs. but no one called for 2 days and responded with no consolation to us. When we complained about the smell, the front staff sent someone right away but all they did was spray a couple of spritz's of aerosol. We will say that the grounds were very nice, actually beautiful, and the pools were nice. Those who liked their accommodations were probably happy with the facility. Needless to say, we spent most all our time outdoors, even sitting outside until late at night! (thankfully the weather was great.) We felt the Sea Garden staff could have done more for us after seeing how very upset we were. We cannot be convinced that the place was completely full for the whole week.

Nice place, excellent service, great value. However, everything closes at ten i.e. pool, hot tub, bar, shuffle board. Nice for older adults and families. If you have children over the age of 18 however, there is nothing to do in safe walking distance and they tend to get bored extremely quickly. There is absolutely nothing to do after 10 even on the weekends. Extremely nice place otherwise. Be prepared though there is absolutely nothing to do for the younger crowd other than go to bed early or watch tv in the room. This doesn't seem to satisfy.
