Nice location, Room just "okay"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/10
The location is excellent and the beach is beautiful. The pool area is really nice as well. Our room was not the best. No light in the kitchenette, no place to hang up wet towels, and the double beds are way too small. Our biggest complaint was the FILTHY CARPET! Our feet and socks turned black from walking around in the room. They also advertise high speed internet, which is a laughing joke. It didn't work for the first 2 days we were there and then when it did, it was turtle slow. We also thought the staff was unfriendly. All in all, a good price for the location, but not the best place to stay. Probably will not return.

Best Value in Fort Myers Beach Florida
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/08
Excellent value for an in season hotel stay. Newly remodeled in 2004 the sandpiper is one of the last bechfront Hotels in Florida to survive the hurricanes. If you like to be on the beach instead of in one of those high rises this place is great. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Well kept suites and grounds. Jetski and parasail right on site. Only 3 other places to get jetskis. It could use a bar but it is less than a mile to the Outrigger which has a great Tiki bar but the rooms are getting tired at The outrigger.

Water Sports on Premises
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/07
www.midislandwatersports.com is located out back. You can rent waverunners, take a Guided Dolphin Tour and go parasailing any time. The Sandpiper is totally remodeled and a great find in a hotel!

We're baacckk!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/01/07
This is the perfect place for vacationing families. This July will be our 7th year staying here. Many times you see the same families from last year. We live in the West Palm area so the 3 hr trip is far enough away to be a vacation. The rooms are clean as well as the neatly groomed landscape and grounds. We save money by cooking our own meals either in our suite or on the bbq grill. You have the choice of either the pool or the gulf to relax in. You can go fishing, rent ski-dos or just plop on the beach. The sunsets are awesome. The fireworks up and own the coast line on July 4th is just spectacular. We always have a great time.

Great Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/07
Just returned from here in Jan/07 and thoroughly enjoyed this location. Can't wait to go back. Very well kept up and all the staff friendly and efficient. Room decorated nicely and had plenty of room with 4 of us staying there. Had a location right off the pool, and this was only a few steps offthe beach. Close to many restaurants and shopping if needed. Cooked out 1 night and was able to recharge the batteries !

This place is really great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/26/06
My boyfriend and I have been staying at the Sandpiper on a fairly regular basis for 3 years. The suites are very nice, with a sitting area, dining table and equipped kitchen. The balconies are spacious and the views are incredible. One thing we really like is the seperate pool for adults, with a hot tub. The kids have their pool, but we can get away for a little peace and quiet when we need to do so. Overall, an awesome place!!

Worth a try
By AnthonyG, 03/16/06
The highlight of the sandpiper is it wonderful location. The rooms are well appointed and the service is good. If you want accomodations directly on the beach, this is for you.
