What a mistake.
By fal, 02/26/09
Service poor. Rooms are large and spacey if you have a load of luggage. My advice is not to stay for breakfast and no car with hope of free parking. You will have an awful time communicating to some staff unless you speak Spanish. Dirt rooms. I think owner of this hotel is thinking to demolish and build a new one.

Less than what they could offer
By Marzi, 02/26/09
I will start off with what I saw in my suite. A broken tile in the middle of the suits. No telephone hook next to the bed. Cheap pillows, small towels. Out of service phone. It comes next day and I see no cleaning done in my suite. I asked my friend which lived two doors further on the same floor, and she had the same experience. Breakfast was simply nothing more than waiting in a line and begging for a pastry and a glass of oj at the bar. You could choose between that or a very small muffin and that is with no English spoken attendant that was handing those us these from a box. I think you could save yourself a good night sleep just next door with not much more cost.

We would stay there again
By Blanca, 08/30/08
The staff was freindly. when you walk in there is feel of elegance. The hotel is a little old but everything was working just fine. The only thing that I did not like is that i had to pay $21 for parking and there was no bell person to help me with my bags..I would recommend this hotels to others its not the best hotel but its economic and staff is freindly

It did the trick
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/08
After reading some of the hysterical reviews about this place, I was a little concerned when I checked in. (I booked as part of an Orbitz package.) For what you get, though, it's not a bad place at all. The hotel is a little rundown--it used to be a Clarion, and it hasn't been renovated--but the front desk staff were agreeable, my room was very clean (no nasty hairs or bugs), everything in my room worked fine, and I had no problems at all. Miami hotels are extremely expensive, and if I had more to spend, I'd certainly stay somewhere else. And if I didn't have to be downtown near the convention center, I'd stay in some other part of the city, since NOTHING happens in this neck of the woods after dark, and the area becomes quite desolate. But for two nights, the River Park served my needs.

Not What I Expected...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/08
The parking is terrible!!! The toilet did not work (which was a nightmare for my son who has an intestinal disorder). The telephone/internet did not work (we had to go downstairs for everything). The pool was filthy. If I had not paid for the hotel in advance, I would not have stayed. After staying the 2 days I paid for, we headed straight to another hotel. The only positive thing I would have to say is that the room was cleaner than I expected.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/07
This is one of the most disgusting hotels I have ever stayed at and to think that I had to pay to stay here makes me ill. The beds have no mattress covers, the sheets are old and stained, as well as the towels, there was mold in the bathroom, the paint job in the room was horrific, and the customer service was lacking to say the least. The staff was quite unresponsive to my needs as a guest, and believe me, I checked out as fast as I could the next day. To rate this hotel with 3 stars is absurd! I'd give it a 1 and a half. Definitely not worth the $100 I spent for one night.

No going back
By brenda, 08/19/07
The prevaling smell as you came out of the elevator took your breath away every time. Internet never worked when I first went there & on return from a cruise 3 weeks later it still didn't. The receptionist did offer me the use of his laptopat at a charge of $5 for 15 mins. (had the internet sevice worked it would have been $5 for 25 mins) at one time 1 of the 2 elevators were broken for 2 days as was the restroom in the lobby. The iron didn't work properly and the shower only with some fiddling about. The place is definitely long overdue for updating. On our 1st night we made the mistake of dining at the restaurant, not only was the food dire but the coffee too. The hotel is very convenient for the Bayside area & for the Port of MIami. If you still want to stay at the River Park I recommend you take your own towels as those provided are ok if you're no more than a size 8. Lastly I asked if it was safe to walk out at night and was told no the receptionist.

Save Your Money!
By Larissa, 07/25/07
My co-workers and I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. We all experienced problems at this hotel. Whether it was that ALL the ice machines were broken and no one was ever in the bar/restaurant to help, pop machines were sold out, the restaurant was closed due to something not working (our first night), breakfast in the morning was cold and had inadequate service, the bar was never open, not being able to get clean towels, mattresses were hard and uncomfortable, etc. The kicker was that one of us believed to have had bed bugs, because she would wake up every morning with more and more bites. This hotel is also out of walking distance to shop, eat and see Miami. Thank God that we did not have to worry about parking!

Awful business stay in Miami
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/22/07
floors were cracked, staff were unattentive and the rooms were very small, plus there were no irons in the room. For business it is not worth it. Stay at the Hyatt that is adjacent.

Great bang for the buck!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/07
Great location and great price!Staff very helpful and attentive. Great clean room and beautiful view of the Miami Downtown area. Close to everything including the AA Arena and Bayside. Valet parking is $19.00 so be ready to pay but it is worth it.
