Poor Customer Service and horrible stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/11
I stayed at the Holiday Inn-Sunrise location on University Drive and I wasn't that pleased with my stay. Prior to checking in, we requested a fridge for our room and it was either Lloyd or Kip who said we can have a free upgrade to a King Suite with fridge and microwave included. We first go to our room and notice that it wasn't a king suite and there was no fridge or microwave, so we went back downstairs to switch. After she gave us another room which we then again walked to another floor, and we actually WALKED IN on another couple using that room - and they were NOT happy because one of them was naked changing. This made me also very upset and worried about my stay because who knows if this would happen to our room, and our things would be stolen if another couple got into our room like that and we were not there. We go once again downstairs (with all our luggage still) and once again have to switch. She only said we can have our original room back and that they "were out of all the fridges and microwaves". They then said "maybe we can have a microwave, and we'll see what we can do" - if anything I only wanted a fridge. We asked for towels and they told us it would be 15 minutes for them to bring us some. We had to call again an hour later to remind them two more times. The original girl at the desk was very nice, but another woman didn't see to help us or care about our stay. The TV was also very fuzzy and it was like that for every channel, and there was only about 10 channels working. If anything, if we are promised a king suite with something as little as a fridge, we should at least be able to have that. The customer service line people working should at least inform us that it's only a "request" as we learned - and not say we have an upgrade when we never even got one. We ended up staying at another location with our friends for the remainder of the stay and only stayed two nights out of the planned 6 night stay.

It was okay
By EJenn, 3/30/10
The lobby and main area was nice. I stayed here the spring break weekend. I got the room on the 3rd floor @ the last minute; The room was decent the only thing that turned me off was the fact that the room smelled like cigar smoke and it was suppose to have been non smoking. The layout of the room was fine, but the smoking smell in the hall on the 3rd floor turned me off so bad,

not bad but....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/3/09
This hotel was very pretty with a nice lobby and pool area. Rooms were nice; clean enough but not spotless. The "fitness room" was pretty sad, with obviously used equipment that was not maintained at all. The corridors were always cluttered, with dirty dishes on the floor outside of rooms that sat there all day. This COULD be a great place, since it is pretty centrally located and pretty new.

HORRIBLE
By joe, 8/7/07
Not family oriented. After checking with the front desk in the AM to ask if we were all set to extend our stay at our priceline price they said it was fine. After being out all day and returning at 7pm they told me that was not the case. They made me take an infant an 8 year old and my wife to leave and drive 41/2 hour back to Tampa. I was willing to pay the priceline price that I did the night before and they were not going to be able to rent the room any way but they did not compromise at all.

Stolen Shoes
By Alrighty, 10/10/05
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. We did not spend much time in the room because we were out shopping and partying. We had returned to our room Sunday morning to find the beds made and the room cleaned. It was only when were ready to leave when my girlfriend was looking for her Nike slippers did we notice that they and a pair of fairly expensive Rockport sandals were missing. We informed the front desk who told us they would investigate (to no avail of course) and that there was not much they could do; they were sorry for our loss. I understand that 2 pairs of shoes may seem insignificant to most but the fact is that something was taken/stolen out of our room without our permission. Then to have management of a Hilton tell us they could do nothing about it was just ridiculous. I know I won't be staying there again. The rooms were not that impressive anyway, I have paid less for more comfort before.
