New Management, And It Shows (Not In A Good Way)
Update from my 2010 review: Hotel still has attraction of good location, fridge/micro in room, walking distance/short drive to eateries, grocery store, shops, stadium, etc. Rooms are showing its age, but everything functional, with no crawling bugs, or untowardly odors. There is even another building besides the 300 building partially completed in the back section by parking lot pool.
Yet I'm reluctant to endorse this hotel due to the incompetency of the front desk folks. Most of my gripes were corrected, but it was aggravating to have to bother in the first place. From the start:
1) Upon check in, front desk did not have my reservation. Couldn't find in stack of papers, even after providing them my confirmation number. Fortunately, was able to get room. But....
2) In the course of the 20 plus minute wait to check in (2pmish), 3 guests came by saying they were locked out of their room. One of the parties was doubly agitated about not getting king bed they reserved on top of getting locked out. Apparently, front desk doesn't know how to program keys- this happens a bit after 1p in some hotels.
3) Clerk runs credit card, with weekly charge on it, but sheet only shows me staying one night. I point this out, clerk gives me cancellation of charges ticket, runs my card again. Upon checkout, get proper itemized summary thinking all is copasetic.................
4) Meanwhile, I get locked out of my room on 2 subsequent afternoons after 1p. After the second time, I contact hotel mgr, and give him my frank opinion, including alternative lodging plans. I have no more lockout problems remainder of stay.
5) Re, #3- Upon getting my credit card bill, I notice that I've been double charged for my stay. Fortunately, CC Company sees things my way, and duplicate charge is subtracted from my bill.
Prior to this visit, I'd endorse this hotel for anyone staying for nearby sporting events, or a leisure traveler wanting a basic extended stay place. Now, I'm relustant to do so until present ownership gets their act together
