Cant wait to go back!
By ,
I Love this hotel! i have no idea what these people are talking about...i just stayed there last weekend and plan on going back at the end of august! The room and bathroom were very clean! the restuarants in the hotel are a bit pricey but you can always go somewhere else like we did....there is lots of things to do within miles. The pool and hot tubs were AWESOME!! the hotel is very big and is fun to explore! i deffently would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Most over priced, under performed hotel ever
By ,
I was shocked to see that they closed the family restaurant at dinner time. The restaurant was great and the serversw were all fantstic. So then they closed the only good thing I could say about this hotel. The "sports" restaurant is okay but for what you get is over priced and the food is not all that good. The other three restaurants are so over prices that families cannot afford to dine there for dinner. It is a shame that they closed Solaris as there is no where for families to dine at that is affordable. The rooms are not worth what they charge for them. The shuttle service is over priced. If you have to go anywhere, it will cost you an arm and a leg to have them drive you there or to get a taxi. If you think that renting a car is the best way to afford it, they charge you for parking at the hotel. Do not stay at this hotel because they are more concerned with taking your money than giving you any kind of value for it.

STAY AWAY,
By ,
The place was beautiful. The problem was they charged you for everything and the pool water was freezing cold. We signed up for the "kids it free package" it should be called the kids it free but the adults pay double. The staff which i think is most important were lazy and not friendly the hotel is run like a corporate meeting let me just say we stayed at 5 places in 2 weeks 4 hotels and 1 condo my kids listed this place as number 5 ( 1.Nickelodeon 2 Ritz carlton 3. Disney caribean beach 4. condo 5. Marriott. We have 3 kids(9,7,5,) a pool for us is important and when i say it was cold believe me it was cold I hope your stay is better then ours was it can;t be much worse...

No wi-fi in the rooms, but luxurious beds!
By ,
We decided to stay at this hotel the last two nights of our stay in Orlando. It looked great on the website... I was ecstatic that they accepted my offer on Priceline. Good thing I didn't pay full price for this room, because they nickel and dime you for everything. The parking is in a parking garage quite a ways away from the main lobby. The hotel provided a shuttle that ran routinely until 1am... which was pretty quick. But it was just a hassle... I guess with this size hotel, you can't get around it. They also charge more than 12 dollars a day for parking... I'm not sure exactly for valet because we didn't use it. Upon entering the hotel, I thought we'd made a big mistake... the lobby was gorgeous and I saw people in business attire all around. It seemed kind of high society and not exactly family friendly. Looks can be deceiving, though, because the next day we saw lots of families with kids and found a toddler room and arcade that was fun. We got to the pool around noon... big mistake! No chairs available anywhere... hardly anywhere to even set my towels down! There's a sign that said to be courteous and not leave a towel on a chair to save it.. .pretty much saying you have to physically be in the chair to use it. Nobody paid attention to this. There is a kiddie pool that was just the right size and the actual pool is huge with beautiful waterfalls... there's also a water slide built into the rocks. We came back later that night to swim and the crowd had thinned out a bit, making it much easier to find a chair. Didn't get to sunbathe though! The guest laundry was clean but only had about 6 washers and 8 dryers. Only a dollar to wash, a dollar to dry, and a dollar for a little box of Tide soap (one load)... I thought this was pretty reasonable. But for all the rooms in this place... this hotel is absolutely huge... you'd think the laundry area would be larger. People were waiting to wash when I was in there... I lucked out and got two washers. There's no wi-fi in the rooms, but there is an ethernet cord you can access the internet with. In the lobby you can get a weak wireless signal, but none by the pool. The operator told me it would be 69 cents a minute for internet access in their business area (I inquired before I found out about the ethernet connection in my room)... that's a little much. The hotel I stayed at the days before was not as ritzy and they had 3 computers with free internet access and great wi-fi in the rooms. There was no breakfast included in the room that I could find... all I saw was a card on my nightstand about breakfast for 14.00 (continental)... we didn't even mess with the restaurants there - they all looked pretty stuffy, except for the snack bar downstairs. The gift shop had high prices... almost higher than the Disney stores, if that tells you anything. It don't want to only state the negatives, even though that's human nature. This place was exquisite as far as beauty and cleanliness; the beds were very comfy and plush. There just were so many people and we felt that some areas should have been larger to accomodate the masses!

Worst Part of our Vacation was Staying here
By ,
The entrance to the place is beautiful, the breakfast bar had excellent Fruit @ $25.00. That is about all I can find good in this place. I have never wrote one of these reviews but this experience made me want to as soon as we got home. We got taken in by the beautiful pictures of the pool on the internet, my 6 year old was so excited. The indoor pool is disgusting. Outdoor is nice but with this many rooms it is packed, look at all the rooms that are at this place!, now think 2.5 kids. 30 deep at the coffee shop every morning. You really got the feeling that they are squeezing all the money they could from you. Nothing is free which is normal but there Customer Service was the worst I have seen. Parking is $12.00/day and had to get a shuttle to get to it. Valet is $20.00 with a minimum of 45 minutes to get car everyone expecting a tip and when my wife (7 months pregnant) did not give one the valet kind of jabbed her with the key. There was even a bride in gown who was missing the wedding waiting on car. Really need to learn Customer service as all Hostess had the exact same small talk which made you feel they really did not care. We are not Cheap Skates but for the money we paid and the service we got was very disappointing. Every other guest I spoke to was never going back.

Weird Events - Stuck!
By ,
We stayed at the World Center for our Christmas vacation, 12/25/08-1/1/09. The Hotel is massive, our room was wayyyyyy on the other end of the hotel and that made walking to it almost exhausting every time we had to come back to our room or leave our room to get to the main lobby. Theres about 4 restaurants and plenty of other options for food or drink. The problem here is that all the restaurants are incredibly over priced, so be prepared to burn money if you get hungry and there are more than 3 in your party. The night we got in were so hungry and tired, when we got in we ate at the World Center and for the 4 of us ended up spending about 80 dollars. The food was okay but I'm a vegetarian and a pretty healthy eater, if you have the same eating habits expect slim pickings. Salad gets old real quick. There is a little fridge in the room but its chock full of stuff that you can buy, completely overpriced and there are no vending machines. Expect to pay about 3 for a small pop or 8 or some cashews. There's NO microwave in the room so even if you have leftovers you cannot warm up. The room was pretty quiet, we ended up getting a room by the pool and that was pretty nice with easy access. We brought 2 teenage boys so they loved it. The pools are gorgeous, sooo beautiful but if you don't get out there early enough you will find no seating, theres about 10 jacuzzi's, at least 2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool. Drinks are awesome outside, the soggy bottom had to be my favorite drink but watch out, its $12 for each drink. If you get room service, expect at least a 20% tip, a $3 charge for something and don't forget the taxes. The hotel staff was completely obsessive about cleaning the room, even after putting the don't clean ticket on our door they still came in and made the beds. The beds were completely comfortable but if you bring a spouse and 2 kids, the beds are pretty small if you get 2 queen beds. My husband was pretty tired, he could not fit on the beds. The bedding kept slipping off and was hard to keep on. The night before we left, we heard that a woman committed suicide. She jumped from the 16th floor, that was pretty creepy. They were talking about how they thought the boyfriend might have done it because he's a doctor or something. I dk but I'm so glad that we weren't by the indoor pool that night because that would have been pretty horrible. What a sad way to end our vacation and what a sad thing to happen to someone. I doubt that we'll go back, even though it was really pretty. It felt so corporate and we wanted something that didn't feel so uppity. Also, its impossible to get off the property unless you take a cab. Some of the cab drivers are quacks and every one of them will try to rip you off so make sure if you use this hotel you use the cabs recommended by the hotel. The conceigere are pretty good about helping you with that. Get the price and the rate before you get in the cab. One cab driver told us that the fare would be 4 times as much on New Years Eve, which turned out to be a lie but we would have ended up paying $60 for cab fare to Hollywood Stuido's instead of the $12 that it really ended up costing us. We'll probalby do Disney next time so that everything is a little more inclusive and accessible. We also need a kitchen so we don't spend crazy amounts of money on food that completely tasteless. Glad to be back home, 7 days is plenty for a vacation!
