Very Unhappy Guest
I have stayed at this property a hand full of times, but this time I was extremely displeased with the service provided by the managers. I have had a Laquinta Returns account for years and have always used it to accumulate points off of money that I have spent. I stayed here in Febuary and used my points for a free night, however I booked the wrong night with my points certificate, so Jimmy the clerk advised me that I booked for the wrong night, but said that he would fix it for me, cool. He then made my keys over and things were fined. The next day I came down at check out time to pay for the next night being I was going to stay over for one more night. There was another gentleman at the front which I was later told that he was the assistant manager for the property. I told him that I was staying over and needed to pay, he advised me that I didnt owe anything for that day that I was good until tomorrow. That was a suprise to me. I even asked was he sure. He said yes and made my keys over. The next day I left for Ft. Lauderdale and stayed at another Laquinta there.n I came back to Tallahassee and checked into the Laquinta with no problems. I also had enough points in my account for a free night and decided that I was going to use them for the following night, however when contacting returns department, I was told that my account was blocked for nonpayment at Laqunita N. Monroe, so I called and spoke with the general manager and asked him how did this happen. He advised me that I stayed 2 nights and didnt pay making me owe them 120.00. I explained to him about my certificate and how things went when I was trying to pay. He told me very rudely that he would speak to his employee and check the cameras. I asked him to do so. I had my wallet in my hand and money out, so please do. However, I have not been contacted back and my account is still blocked. He doesnt want to check the cameras because the truth would come out. I am a faithful guest and do not feel I should suffer from an employee of theirs mistake. He also said he did not see a free night certificate and I advised him that I booked for the wrong night and Jimmy changed it for me. He advised me that front desk clerks did not have the power to do so. Well, I shouldnt have been told that. If I were to have been told that he couldnt, I would have just called returns department and they would have happily done it for me. How can I as a guest do my keys over at check out? No way possible! This hotel believes in check out no later than 1, so obviously there was a mistake made. Also I checked in late and the lady checking me in on third shift a 55 dollar rate. The manager confronted me on how did I get a 55 dollar rate? I told him that I couldnt have given it to myself. He was very rude and seems to have a guest are wrong staff are right type of attitude. I will not stay here again and will continue to write my reviews of this place!
