Mont Blanc Hotel Village, Jacksonville Beach

I can only describe the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort as tired. Not sure how it achieves a 3 star hotel rating (unless that is 3 out of 10), but it is significantly more run down than some of the 2 star hotels on JAX Beach we walked through while staying at the SunSpree. Everything from the carpet on the floors, to the elevator that was like an amusement park thrill ride, to the bar that reeked of cigaret smoke and mold, to curtains in the rooms that showed deterioration from the sun, and the leaking fixtures and slow drain in the bathroom indicate that this place is well past its prime. Hotel management was slipshod, the front desk staff cracking jokes amoungst themselves while checking in guests, Staff wearing uniforms in a haphazard mannor, and the cleaning crews unable to get through their rooms rounds before 4:00pm. Having said all this, the families in residense at the time I was there seemed to enjoy it, staff was friendly and appeared to want to satisfy their guests, and the location right on the beach (for rooms with views) was relaxing.

We enjoyed our night here. We were actually just getting away from the normal every day life. The hotel is right on the beach. It was cold when we went, but we walked the beach at night and it was beautiful. The hotel was very clean and it had a nice pool area. We can't wait to be back!!

This hotel is a gem of a find. Its right on the beach with a great pool & oceanview rooms! Yes this hotel is older, but its very clean & great fun!!! The rooms are nice with a great ocean view and walkout balcony. Location is great too, all you need is right around you. My husband & I will only stay here when we are in Jacksonville Beach! We walked up & down the beach everyday! Lots of activity going on at the beach too! Great fun!!!

When we checked into the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, the clerk did not give us the price for our five-day stay that we had agreed upon when we pre-paid through Yahoo. Indeed, an extra $25 per day was added. We showed him our confirmation number, but he still argued, saying it would all be the same in the end. We checked in despite the descrepancy because we were in Florida for a funeral and didn't have the time or energy to shop around for a new place at 7 pm at night. The next morning the toilet wouldn't flush, and we had to use facilities in the lobby four floors down. The hotel clerk said they would send a mechanic sometime during the day to look at the toilet. Instead we asked to change our room as soon as possible. They said it could not be done until 4 pm that day, but they would upgrade our room then. We decided to find another hotel. Holiday Inn promised to refund our pre-paid money, but didn't do so. The bill they gave us at departure had a charge $200 more than our pre-paid price. Don't stay here!
