Hampton Inn Clearwater-Central, Clearwater

When we checked in, the a/c wouldn't come on, we called someone to fix it, they did... so long as we put the setting down to 66 degrees. The toilet plugged up. The hotel charged my card for misc expenses without authorization. I was told they would hold the number until such time as it was determined there were charges. There were none, and a week later, I am still not refunded my money. The manager Robin Moore was told not to speak with my corporate office because the charge was on my card, and was my personal finances. She ignored my request, and in a gross violation of my personal privacy, discussed the charge to my card with my supervisor. Finally, the hotel room was filthy. There were black cob webs on the ceiling, 2 pubic hairs on the bathroom floor, and it was dusty. The first thing we did was locate the Target, just about across the street, and bought disinfectant Do NOT stay at this hotel. It is foul.

believe the others, bad management. they move you from room to room to accomodate other guest . they are so confused during the month of march that they could care less about your reservation.nice looking place but worst management i have ever seen!!

Nice, clean and well decorating hotel,,,,rooms are very nice, beds, pillows and room temp very confortable after long day playing baseball ,,,kids enjoy pool area.....nice staff...Trish (lady saturday night) awsome....she help us with directions and places to eat.....excellent customer services calification for her.

Exhausted after driving all day, we decided to stay at this Hampton Inn. The rate was $99.00, steep I thought for Hampton Inn but it was late and we were very tired. We checked in at 11:00 pm as a noisy party was going on. No problem until the window A/C unit kicked on. My wife and both woke up around 2:00 am to what sounded like a truck cranking up inside the room. After a few minutes the sound stopped, so we went back to sleep. Again, 45 mins. to 1 hour later it happens again. We were so exhausted so we tried to go back to sleep again. At approximately 4:00 am it happen again. We decided that we would not get any sleep even if we called someone. We would either have to pack up and move to another room losing time and sleep or get up and prepare to leave with the little bit of rest we got between the noises. I brought the problem to the desk person on duty and asked for a refund. I was told that I couldn't have one because I didn't call them to report it. I stated that I had no idea that the problem was going to happen again and again. I stated that no matter what course of action was taken, I going to lose a minimum of 2 hours more sleep. I asked the manager why was there a sign on the counter that stated "If you're not satified with your stay, you are not obligated to pay" If they don't plan to honor it. I was told I would have to take my complaint to a manager. It took 5 days before someone returned my calls I was told that the unit in the room was new and that when they went in to the room, they didn't hear anything. I asked if they spent the night in the room to get a true assessment. I was told no and that the manager said I wasn't going to get a refund anyway. I'll tell everyone I know that Hampton Inns is not a place to gamble $100 away.

We liked the central location to the area and it was easy to find from the airport when we arrived. No one likes to hunt for their hotel after a long day of traveling. It was convenient to go either north or south along the coast and an easy drive to the beaches to the west. Two blocks away was a shopping center with a Target to purchase the items I forgot to pack. The hotel was beautifully landscaped around the pools and the buildings looked like they had just been painted. They had a complementary computer to print boarding passes that they were having difficulty with while we were there. The front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate us and help us get them printed. Hotel breakfasts usually are worth skipping but this one was great. The only thing I didn't care for was the size of the room which was a little cramped with the king sized bed. This would be our first choice if we return to the Tampa area in the future.

I stayed here last night. We were in town for a Baseball Tournament. The rooms were very clean. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were awesome. The kids had a great time at the pool. Will definitely be back soon.

the location was everything - we went to Phillies Spring training and the hotel was convenient to the stadium and dining. Loved Lenny's for breakfast! Just 15 minutes and we were on the beach. rooms were clean, service was good and our stay was enjoyable.
