We spent a week here and had a wonderful stay. the staff was friendly. The buses to all of the Disney parks was convienent. It is great place for a military family to stay.

Home Away From Home
By tgrizz, 3/28/11
We have been to SOG for the last two years and have booked our trip for 2011. We LOVE this place. My husband and I like to call it our home away from home. The staff is fantastic and goes out of their way to make the stay comfortable. The rooms have been updated and are spacious. I like that both times we have been it's quiet and relaxing. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the parks when you need a break. The whole atmosphere is different. People are nice when waiting in line for busses and such. Love that the little cafe is next to the bus stop in case you need to grab a quick breakfast. All of the restaurants are great. The first year we had an issue with an employee at the ice cream shop. Long story short the manager corrected it and delivered ice cream to the room at no charge. Great deals on tickets for attractions too. I have a minor complaint (very minor).. I think that the room service should have better hours. It just seemed like when we were there that the hours were at off times. However when we were able to get the room service food was great. We can't wait to return.

Great place to say while in Disney
By biscuit97, 7/11/09
Everything was super. The only thing I would have liked to have had was a microwave in the room. It is really spread out. Wish I would have had an extra day just to relax by the pool

Changes Noted after 15 yrs of Annual
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/16/09
Seriously disliked: closing of Evergreen Sports Bar. No TV listing provided in room. No decaf provided in room as previously done in other years. Would suggest consideration of building of a miniature golf facility at hotel.

Just Magic
By Mandy, 1/29/09
My Family and I been going to SOG for ten Years now.First when my Daughter was only a Baby, then came my Son and another Daughter. We sometimes come twice a Year(for my Kids Birthdays). So I can,t say how many times we been here, but ever single time it has been "Just Magic", My Kids don't want to go anywere else.If we can't get a Room we are not going.Everyone is so nice and helpful. The Rooms are very big and clean.I don't care if there is no Disney on the TV ,by time we get back to the Room my Kids are gone to lalaland with plenty of Disney in there Dreams. There is something for everyone.2 big pools and a Babypool.Video Game room,a Bar,3 Restaurants,Ice Cream Shop.2 Stores and much more.......What i like a lot is that nobody is there to sell you some Timeshare. It is just great. We NEVER had a bad Time......And we be there again in March...........

Best Place to Stay, While You Are Away!
By Lois, 10/24/08
Wonderful place to stay. Great amenities, food, and availability. Prices are reasonable and the environment is unbelievable. The military has given us a very exclusive, economical place to stay with our loved ones. We have stayed at other on-property hotels at Disney, but none compare to the Shades of Green! Definitely the BEST PLACE on Disney. If you qualify to stay there, don't even consider another hotel. You won't be disappointed.
