Avoid it on rainy days
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/10
I had reservations there for 60 days, and wound up canceling after 30. The first week I was there it rained in my room...right on my laptop. Fortunately I was just awake enough to hear the first few drips...the lid was open and a few drops had gotten onto the keyboard. Right after I moved my laptop, the water really started pouring onto the desk. I was moved to a new room by an inconvenienced manager...but all was good until I showered the next morning. I was turning up the temperature for the shower when the handle fell off...it was pretty hot while I fumbled to reassemble it. The next day I opened the closet and it fell off the tracks, I had a bag in one hand and barely stopped the door from clobbering me with the other. The internet was down for one week and the phone system has been dead for two. People have said they give you free food--they do Monday through Wednesday. The quality of the food is hit or miss. Some nights it looked like a trough and others it was fine...it was never anything exceptionally good, but it's free so I skipped the meals I knew wouldn't agree with me. The tv is old and the majority of the channels are very poor quality. I'd complain but I really don't watch much tv. It rained in my "new" room tonight...enough is enough. Again, the manager on duty was inconvenienced...and called me a complainer. He said I should switch rooms again because he didn't have anybody to look at it. The gutters were overwhelmed by a quick downpour, and water seeped in through the front door seal which needed replacement. I've canceled the remainder of my reservation. Three minutes after I spoke with the manager on the phone the rain stopped but a maintenance technician came to check it out after all. The fact that he had a technician and told me he didn't was irritating. I complained as much as a reasonable and prudent person would. I complained that the phones were dead for two weeks and that the food was slop (only when it actually was). I really disliked the rain in my room and the fact that it was always an inconvenience for this particular night manager. It floods in the courtyard sidewalk, but I can always go around the outside of the hotel when the rain is too heavy. I never even complained about the tv, shower or closet to them. Tonight, the night manager told me to complain to higher management...in the hopes that my experience will get the hotel much needed repair funds from the franchise owner. On the night I canceled, the manager gave me some "feedback". He was tired of me and was taking my complaints personally. He asked for the name of my company, so he could give them some feedback of his own. I'm not sure why the threat was made...it seems kind of backwards but I'm not concerned. I realize he probably doesn't get paid enough to handle a no-win situation. His job is probably stressful, and obviously the franchise/corporate management doesn't give him the maintenence funds he needs to succeed. I suspect his attitude got worse as the hotel emptied and guests continually complained in the lobby. I'm sure he had better things to do with his time...I just wanted to be comfortable and get a room worth the cost. I gave high marks for cleanliness and location because the maids did a great job and it's less than 10 minutes from work.

Location is Great, But Beware of Dog
By justabouttown, 9/20/06
This is an older Residence Inn built like an apartment or condo buildings, 2 stories high with each unit having an exterior entrance. The exterior is not exactly immaculate, however, we found the rooms well maintained and we particularly liked the fluffy comforter encased in two sheets. Unlike another reviewer, we found the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was the typical Residence Inn fare, waffle machine, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, cereal, bagels, hum-drum pastries. We picked this hotel because of its location away from any traffic noise. Well, we never heard any traffic noise but beware, this hotel allows dogs. Another guest went out and left their dog in their room where it barked from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Horrible! If not for the dog problem, this hotel would rate high. I think I'll start avoiding hotels that allow dogs; this is the second time this has happened to us.

Convenience and Comfort
By Sunil Chacko, 6/14/06
Hotel is in close proximity to restaurants/shopping. Rooms are like apartments - 2 floors, full kitchen, detached from other guests. This made the experience more private and more like staying at your own place. Gym and pool were good enough to meet my needs
