Hotel Palomar, Washington

I travel to D.C. often for work and I have always been in search of THAT hotel that fits my needs---one that is in a convenient location, that is a good value, that is clean and new yet has charm, that has a friendly staff, and one that caters to my needs. Hotel Palomar is the closest I have come. The location is great---in fact I walked to almost all of my D.C. meetings from the hotel. Also, they have free wifi in the rooms, complimentary cab service from 7:30 to 10am, complimentary gym (can't stand hotels that charge for this), and daily happy hour with complimentary wine. The standard rooms (deluxe) are not the largest, but they are very well designed and they are just right for one person. They have flat screens, modern bathrooms, edgy decor (I am over the usual hotel look), comfortable beds, and overall I felt very comfortable in the room. My only issue was that it seems like the standard rooms at the hotel face another building (forcing you to close the curtains for privacy) but I didn't really mind that. I would definitely stay there again and plan on making this one of my regular hotels during my regular trips to the D.C. area.

The rooms are GREAT ! The staff are SUPER! The building has just been remodeled and looks fantastic.The location is ideal the Metro is just a few blocks away,so the city is yours with a short walk. The restraunt is a bit pricy,but there is many restraunts to choose from in the area. Looking forward to our next trip to D.C. we know where we will be staying!

Tried to stay here on a business trip and ended up moving to another hotel. The place is still under construction and if you didn't notice when you checked in you'll notice in the morning when you wake up from the noise. What is the management thinking? No restaurant means no room service, no bar, no nothing. The staff is wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. But the management obviously needs to clue in and finish the renovations before they inflict that on customers. Most of us know better than to live in our own homes during renovations - why would we want to pay (full price no less) to live in a construction zone?

under construction no notice of name change from Radisson. Staff great, noise from construction bad. no amenities other than breakfast. paid too much to park car outside under trees. room nice, beds very hard.
