Horrible Henlopen Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/09
We stayed at Henlopen Hotel for a friend's wedding --- the reception was held on the top floor. The reception hall was nice - it overlooked the ocean on three sides. However, I would not recommend the accomodations. When we arrived, the staff appeared unkempt (wore jeans, sweatshirts, sneakers) and made inappropriate/unprofessional comments. We have traveled a lot but were shocked at the appearance of our room. It was unlocked when we arrived, and was dirty. There was hair, dirt and food on the floor. The mini fridge was moldy. The ammenities were old and not well-kept. This hotel would be much better if it were cleaned and if the hotel staff were more professional. Older ammenities are okay if they are maintained, but this hotel is not. Unfortunately a sticky residue remained on all surfaces, including the radiator and floors. Henlopen Hotel is right on the beach and located near the boardwalk and cute shops. Its location is nice, and it has potential, but unfortunately we were sorely disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We were shocked at the price for such an unkempt establishment.

One of the nicest hotels my family stayed at
By EUGENE, 08/11/09
The rooms where very clean!!! We have stayed at many hotels along the coast line. The Henlopen is by far the place you wanna take your family to. From the time we walked into our room to check out was perfect!!! Wait till you see the rooms.

Good time, good value, but you wont mistake it for the Ritz.
By Terry, 07/03/08
Our family had a very nice time staying here. What's not to like with the beach right outside your room and the boardwalk right there, as well. A few blocks up from main street, so you don't feel suffocated from the crowds. Room was nice. Generally speaking the place could be a little more tidy, but after all it is the beach. Visit to Henlopen in October
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/04/08
I visited in mid October. The hotel wasn't perfect, but I had a very enjoyable stay. There were very few people on & around the boardwalk, even though the weather was very beach friendly.

Great Place & Great Staff
By Joel, 07/17/07
The location was superb. The rates were excellent. The cleanliness was terrific! The staff was extremely pleasant!!! AND THE BEST OF ALL.....My daughter lost a necklace and never knew she lost it in the room. Just 2 days after returning home we received the necklace in a padded envelope from the hotel. I HAVE ALREADY TOLD EVERYONE ABOUT THIS!!! This is truly the best place to stay in REHOBETH BEACH DELAWARE!!! Thank you so much and we will continue to book our vacations with you guys!!!! Keep up the excellent work!! It is nice to know their are honest people left in the world. You guys are just the best!!! Thanks so much!!!!

Could Be Worse, I Suppose
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/05
Location, Location, Location. That's why you stay here. Place shows its age and appears to be run by short-timers.

just ok
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/05
It was great to be on the beach. The locaton was fabulous. The shower was redone but not much else. The description said the hotel had under gone a major renovation in 2004. I would like to know what was renovated. The beds were definately old saging in the middle. The bedding was old as well. It made me nervous to sleep on them. The carpet was old and worn. I was afraid to let my kids on the floor. I would not stay here again. I would pick a different beach on the boardwalk or a block or two off.
